uh-uh uh-uh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh... oh
uh-uh uh-uh
And it's my time homie catch up
Lookin' out for one time
Haters tryna take mine
And it's my time homie, catch up!
I'm lookin' out for one time
And these haters tryna take mine
I'm runnin' on a thin line
And it's my time homie!
Gimme a big beat, and let a nigga speak
And let it leak, to spread...
Like fertilizer
New... supplier
Got my underground hits all up in they nano
They like Kiddo
Switch gears on a model
Full throttle
Only bottle I'm poppin' is a 40 of Bud Light
Rugged and unlike, anything you've ever peaked at
Giggity, giggity on a beat
Uh
It's somthing all up in my brain
It don't matter when a nigga grippin'??
You nigga's hate it, and I love it
I truly will miss the days I could walk amoung the public
But hey
Salute me please
I never ice grill or smile like you're cheese
So yeah, I'm cheesin', believe him
Doin' about 90, focused no weavin'
Focused on leanin'
Lookin' out for one time
These haters tryna take mine
I'm runnin' on a thin line
And it's my time homie, catch up!
I'm lookin' out for one time
And these haters tryna take mine
I'm runnin' on a thin line
And it's my time homie!
Lookin' out for one time
These haters tryna take mine
I'm runnin' on a thin line
And it's my time homie, catch up!
I'm lookin' out for one time
And these haters tryna take mine
I'm runnin' on a thin line
And it's my time homie!
The song "Catch Up" by Kid Cudi talks about his rise to fame in the rap industry and the difficulties he faced while trying to make it big. He talks about his haters and how they are trying to bring him down, and how he is running on a thin line to stay ahead of them. The lyrics, "Lookin' out for one time, haters tryna take mine, I'm runnin' on a thin line, and it's my time homie, catch up" showcases the pressure and competition that he is facing in the music industry.
The line "Gimme a big beat, and let a nigga speak" is a demand for a platform to showcase his talent and express himself freely. He mentions that he has new suppliers and is now famous for his underground hits. This could refer to his previous mixtapes, where he still maintained his unique sound and reputation despite not making it to the mainstream. He also briefly touches on his love for walking among the public without being recognized, which is a luxury that he does not have anymore due to his fame.
Kid Cudi's lyrics are full of metaphors, such as "Like fertilizer, new supplier," which could be interpreted as his growth as an artist and having a new team or mentors to guide him. The line "Only bottle I'm poppin' is a 40 of Bud Light" showcases a more down-to-earth side of Kid Cudi, despite having money and fame, he still sticks to his roots and prefers to drink a cheaper beer.
