Kid Rock released several studio albums from 1988 that mostly went unnoticed before his 1998 record 'Devil Without a Cause', released with Atlantic Records, sold 11 million albums behind the hits, "Bawitdaba","Cowboy," and "Only God Knows Why". In 2000, he released The History of Rock which was a compilation of remixed and remastered versions of songs from his previous albums as well as the hit single, "American Bad Ass". In 2001, he released the follow up, Cocky. After a slow start, his country-flavored hit "Picture" with Sheryl Crow resurrected the album and it went gold as a single and pushed the album's sales to more than 5 million. It was followed by 2003's self-titled release, which failed to chart a major hit. In 2006 he released Live Trucker , a live album. In 2007 Kid Rock released Rock N Roll Jesus, which produced a hit in "All Summer Long." It was his first worldwide smash hit, charting #1 in eight countries across Europe and Australia. Rock N Roll Jesus would go on to sell 5 million albums worldwide including being certified triple platinum in the US.
He has sold 22 million albums to date in the United States, which currently ranks him as the 99th best selling music artist of all time in the U.S.

I like home made wine
I don’t look for greener grass
Home grown suits me just fine
Welcome to my shanty
Drop by anytime
I bet you’ll like my Redneck Paradise
It’s a hole in the wall kinda small but the people are real nice
And folks in here they’s free and clear
To drink beer and dance all night, that’s right
And no one’s uptight in Redneck Paradise
Now I might get a little tipsy
I might be past my prime
But pour some Jim Beam whiskey
And I’ll show you a real big time
You don’t need reservations
Drop by anytime
The sun is shinin’ in Redneck Paradise
And the things we like don’t cost a lot of money
Good foot stompin’ music gets us by
Measure up our wealth in friends and family
We’re gonna hit them honky tonks tonight
Down in Redneck Paradise
It’s a hole in the wall kinda small just look for the red light
And have no fear you’re free and clear to get wild and rock all night
We don’t bite
'Cause we get down right in Redneck Paradise
Down in Redneck Paradise
It’s a hole in the wall kinda small but the people are real, real nice
And when you’re here you’re free and clear to do what most ever you like, all night
So rock on through to Redneck Paradise
Down in Redneck Paradise
It’s a hole in the wall kinda small but the people are real nice
And when you’re here you’re free and clear to drink beer and dance all night, that’s right
'Cause no one’s uptight in Redneck Paradise
So rock on through to Redneck Paradise
The lyrics to Kid Rock’s song “Redneck Paradise” are a celebration of the simple pleasures of life, and the joy that comes from being surrounded by good friends, family, and the things that make us happy. The opening lines “I like moonshine whiskey, I like homemade wine” set the tone for the rest of the song, which is a love letter to the kind of down-home, unpretentious lifestyle that many people in rural areas and small towns can relate to. The song’s narrator is proud of his humble roots and offers a warm welcome to everyone who drops by his “shanty”. The chorus is an invitation to join in the fun and let loose in the “Redneck Paradise”, where people are free to drink, dance, and be themselves.
Throughout the song, Kid Rock is celebrating his blue-collar heritage and the people who make up his community. He acknowledges that they might not have a lot of money, but they measure their wealth in their friendships and the good times they have together. The song is also an ode to country music, with its mention of “good foot stompin’ music” and “honky tonks”. Ultimately, “Redneck Paradise” is a song about finding happiness in the simple things in life, and enjoying the company of the people who matter most to us.
