Cartoon-like zanniness from Ocean Grove, NJ! Described as the best band ever to follow Milo off to college, Kid With Man Head was a pop punk band formed out of Ocean County, NJ. They self-released their debut, The Mr. Potatoe Head Chainsaw Massacre, in 1995, then after the release of the fan-favorite, Flapjack Hairpiece in 1997, they made a name for themselves touring the East Coast. They followed that up with US and Canadian tours with bands like The Offspring, Bad Religion, Down By Law, Shades Apart, Strung Out, Pennywise, Blink-182 and Unwritten Law. In 2000, KWMH released the Fond Memories Of The Halibut Rodeo EP on Forest Records, followed soon by their final release Cassius Coleman- Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a What You Talkin' Bout Willis? Kid With Man Head later disbanded, but not after spending the better part of a decade spreading their infectious pop-punk to the masses.

I get this higher rush
I'm so alive
Take a ride down a liquid mountainside
Hear the roar of the barrel roll behind
Move a motion cutting deep inside
As the cares of the wide world pass you by
Mother ocean pull me back to you
Swollen fluid wonder push me through
Nothing else that I would rather do
Than jump a board and move on my blue groove
A drop, a dive
Into the pit of something undescribed
When I'm flying, flying down the line
I get this higher rush
And I'm so alive
Blue groove
Pour your power, channeled into me
Blue groove
Wraps around and seems to swallow me
The lyrics of "Blue Groove" by Kid With Man Head describe the euphoric feeling of surfing and riding the waves. The first stanza talks about the rush of adrenaline that the singer experiences when he's surfing, going down the line and feeling alive. The second stanza describes the sensations of being on a surfboard, going down a liquid mountainside and feeling the power of the ocean underneath. The singer mentions the roar of the barrel roll behind him, which refers to the sound of the wave breaking. The motion of surfing is said to cut deep inside, pushing away the cares of the world and enabling the surfer to connect with the elements.
The chorus talks about the love for surfing and the feeling of being supported and engulfed by the ocean. The singer has nothing else that he would rather do than jump on a board and move on his blue groove. The second verse talks about the pure joy of doing something that can't be easily defined. The drop and dive into the pit of something undescribed could refer to the feeling of being completely immersed in the moment, free of any concerns or obligations. The blue groove is described as a powerful force that channels into the singer and wraps around and swallows him.
Overall, "Blue Groove" is a song about the passion for surfing and the feeling of unity with nature that it brings. The lyrics describe the physical sensations of surfing as well as the emotional and spiritual benefits of being in the ocean.
