Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Brownsville, Killah Priest became infatuated with hip-hop as a child, listening to old-school and new school acts like Eric B. & Rakim alike. He also was influenced by local rappers, like GZA and Onyx's Suave, who would often play local parties. Killah Priest began working on his rhyming and eventually earned a considerable reputation in Brooklyn , but instead of pursuing his musical career further, he took a sabbatical in order to educate himself, primarily about religion and history.
Killah Priest returned to rapping in 1995, appearing on several Wu projects. All of his cameos were noteworthy, but his role on Liquid Swords earned special attention. By the end of 1996, he formed his own side project, the Sunz of Man. In 1997, GZA suggested to Geffen that they sign Killah Priest, and the label took his advice.
Killah worked on the album with True Master and 4th Disciple, two producers associated with the Clan. The resulting album, Heavy Mental, was dense with religious imagery and filled with evocative sounds. It received excellent reviews upon its March 1998 release and was a respectable commercial success, debuting at number 24 on the pop charts.
Killah Priest issued his second album, View from Masada, in the spring of 2000, further bolstering his status as one of the most compelling solo artists in the Wu-Tang stable. After that he has released more projects such as Priesthood and Black August.

Same rose, abg, rose cartel,what?
'99, the beginnin of the endin baby
Yea, gon take you there, what?
Yo, yo, yo, ugh ugh...
Same rose, I throw the chrome to ya knot
Same dude known for runnin in spots, bustin the glock
Who smuggle pounds on the yacht
Blowin rounds from the pound till it's hot
When it's nice I'm blowin town in a drop
Killah priest hold me down wit the wop
Disrespect me let the silencers pop
Snitch niggas get found in the lot for trynna take us
Supposed to be a man, switch sides like cross-faders
The source hate us, we toss shit like hot potatoes
Think I got the vapors, disease cause prayin nations
Resorts me to lay in fakers, we turn it up in this game
I'm gettin buck in this game, we sippin, rum on the rocks
Gettin, dumb on the block, it's the haters that clock that make me double wit
Shots, yea this, money I watch keep me rubbin my glock, like it's burnin my
Crotch, still I turn it a notch
Know I'm, runnin wit plot if I run in ya spot, aim invisible dots at the tip of
Ya knot
Yo, yo, same rose
Killah priest daddy rose
Abg maccabees, rose cartel
Peace stone ridahz, ugh, we in this bitch...
The lyrics to Killah Priest's song "Maccabean Revolt" describe a world of violence and betrayal, where the singer is forced to watch his back at all times in order to survive. He speaks of running the block and flipping quarters of rock with cops who smuggle goods on the yacht. He also mentions blowing rounds from the pound till it's hot, which could suggest he is dealing with drugs or guns. The singer is loyal to his crew, and anyone who disrespects them is met with silence from a silenced gun. He also warns of the dangers of snitching, saying "snitch n*ggas get found in the lot for trynna take us". In a world where betrayal is the norm, cunning and violence are needed to survive, and the singer is more than willing to dish it right back out.
The lyrics in "Maccabean Revolt" paint a picture of urban warfare, where allegiances are fleeting and survival is key. They represent a reality where crime pays, and the only friends you can trust are your own. This song is meant to be a representation of the ills of society and the negative effects of poverty and crime on the human soul. It is a call to action to rise above this lifestyle and seek a better path forward.
