When her sister died she released solo singles such as "Mama", "Don't Worry" and "G.L.A.D.". Her debut solo album 'Kim Appleby' was a big success in 1990. In 1993 she released her second album in Europe (except UK) called 'Breakaway'. In 1994 she teamed up with old Mel & Kim producers Stock & Aitken (Of SAW fame) and they wrote and produced her last hit 'Free Spirit' (the b-side featured a new version of her biggest hit and was called 'Don't Worry 94').

I've not heard this lovely song before. Kim has a beautiful voice, one you could listen to her all night. My Mother died a couple of years ago, but I managed to tell her what a good mother she had been. I can still remember the look on her face. I'm so glad I told her.

im 57 now and the year before id had a heart attacks @30 my second one,1st was @23 after this was in the charts i had a triple bypass..n 9 more heart attacks im still here,,i remember,was in my head all the time,,mymum said everything wil be alright..she died 2years ago.my partner in 2007

I heard this track first when i was 14 years old. I was really depressed at this age. My mum dont want me (why, i dont know) and she gave me to the child corrrection facility in Korneuburg Austria. After one month i was free and the disaster goes on. I dont want to write so much about this really sad and dark time.
