Caught Up
Kimberly and Alberto Rivera Lyrics

You know I'm...
Caught up
In the love we made
I'm Caught up
My mind is hard to escape
When your name get brought up
I can't ignore the pain
I'm caught up
(Hate that I'm caught up yeah)
But we on different pages
No communication
(Can we get back to our old conversations?)
The work ain't worth those wages
Testing all my patience
(Ooh it's way too late, no we can't be saved)

I know I'm bad, I know I'm bad,
I know I'm bad for you
I know you're bad,
I know you're bad for me too, Ooh
cnd long as we're together
We can't get better
It's hard to face the truth
That I'm bad and you're bad for me too

I'm caught up
Thinking bout who you laid up with... now
So caught up in my tears I almost drowned
Since I don't got no time to be wasting
We should go our separate ways
Cuz we on different pages
No communication
(Can we get back to our old conversations?)
The work ain't worth those wages
Testing all my patience
(Cause it's way too late, no we can't be saved)

I know I'm bad, I know I'm bad,
I know I'm bad for you
I know you're bad,
I know you're bad for me too, Ooh
cnd long as we're together
We can't get better

It's hard to face the truth
That I'm bad and you're bad for me too

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Caught Up" by Kimberly and Alberto Rivera reflect a tumultuous and conflicted relationship between two individuals who are deeply entangled in a love that is both passionate and toxic. The singer acknowledges that they are "caught up in the love we made," unable to escape their intense emotions despite the pain it brings them. This internal struggle is further emphasized by the repeated refrain of being "caught up," indicating a sense of being trapped and unable to break free from the emotional entanglement.

The lyrics poignantly portray a lack of communication and understanding between the two parties, as they find themselves on "different pages." This lack of connection leads to frustration and a sense of hopelessness, as the singer longs for the simplicity of their old conversations and a time when things were less complicated. The mention of "testing all my patience" hints at the strain and turmoil that the relationship has caused, reaching a point where reconciliation seems impossible.

The admission of being "bad for you" and acknowledging that the other person is "bad for me too" signifies a deep awareness of the detrimental nature of their relationship. Despite this realization, there is a sense of dependency and an inability to fully let go, as indicated by the line, "as long as we're together, we can't get better." The lyrics convey a sense of resignation and resignation in the face of the painful truth that both individuals are ultimately not good for each other.

The lyrics also touch upon feelings of jealousy and insecurity, with the singer grappling with thoughts of who their partner may be with when they are not together. This sense of mistrust and doubt further adds to the turbulent nature of the relationship, pushing them towards the decision to part ways for their own emotional well-being. Ultimately, "Caught Up" captures the complexity and turmoil of a love that is both alluring and destructive, painting a poignant picture of the struggles and conflicting emotions that come with being entangled in a tumultuous relationship.
