1) Kira, often stylised as "Kira_" and formerly known as pinweel, is an artist from Ohio. She is known for her compressed, punchy and sharp drums mixed with an excellent choice of vinyl samples, painting a very lively soundscape. All of her work is mainly released on SoundCloud, but a select few can be found on other major streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music as well. She is also associated with BACKFACE CULLING
2) Kira also known under her full name Kira Skov. Kira was born in the town of Rødovre (Denmark), and became interested in classical music through her aunt and uncle, both of whom are musicians.
When she was ten years old, her parents divorced, which was difficult for her. About this time, she became interested in rock music, and so she tried to learn to play the guitar. This did not go well, however, as she did not have enough patience for it, and so she began singing instead.
In 1993 she went to London, where she met a guitarist called Eve, who she followed to the United States. Together with Eve and—amongst others—Laust Sonne, she formed a band called Butterfly Species, which existed until 1999. When Butterfly Species split, she left Eve and travelled back home to Denmark.
In 2001, she received a scholarship from Denmark's national arts foundation the Statens Kunstfond, which made it possible for her to concentrate on writing songs, and in 2002 she founded the band Kira & The Kindred Spirits.
Over the course of existence of the band from 2001 to 2007, the group became known as a good live band, with Kira as its dynamic powerhouse. They released three albums in the process. In October 2007 it was announced that Kira & The Kindred Spirits had split up and that Kira would pursue a solo career.
While in the band, Kira became well known for singing a duet with Lars H.U.G. at Rock 'N' Royal in 2004 just before the wedding between Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.
Kira Skov continued with a solo musical career in collaboration with Nicolai Munch Hansen from her former band. She released a soloalbum in 2008 called "The Rail Train, The Meadow, The Freeway and The Shadows" Her latest releases includes the Billie Holiday tribute "Memories of Days Gone By" (2011) and after that came the also acclaimed "When We Where Gentle" (2013).

3) Kira (Germany) was born Janine Scholz in Wuppertal, Germany on October 20, 1978. At the age of ten she started studying the violin, but after six years of lessons, she decided she wouldn't get very far with the violin and wanted to write her own songs. She subsequently got a job at a metalworks plant, earning enough money to buy her first guitar, with which she started writing pop songs, often dedicating herself more to her music than to her schoolwork. When she submitted one of her early songs to a home recording competition in 1997, it caught the attention of Hamburg-based producer Michael Hagel. She moved to Hamburg in 2000 and got the EMI-based label Grönland interested in her music. In November 2002 she met the label's founder, Herbert Grönemeyer, a singer in his own right and an actor perhaps best known in North America for his role as Lieutenant Werner in the movie "Das Boot". Kira released her first album, "Inauswendig", in October 2004 and her second, "Goldfisch", in August 2006. From these she has released several singles, including "Der Sog", "Alte Frauen" (her cover of a Buju Banton song called "Untold Stories"), "Wenn du den Himmel nicht aufmachst" and "Nie zu Hause". Though she also speaks English, she has recorded primarily in German, though she has recently recorded some songs in Chinese as a result of two tours in November 2008 and June 2009. She is currently working a third album, which is due out this fall; of the songs intended for it, some are already available on an EP she released in March 2009, called "Deine Insel" (Your Island).

Against All Odds

Just let you leave without a trace?
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave?
'Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've got to face, oh
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
But to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
Take a good look at me now
'Cause I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And it's what I've got to face
Take a look at me now
At the heart of Kira Roessler’s “Against All Odds” is a haunting sense of loss and longing for a past love. By opening with the rhetorical question, “How can I just let you walk away,” Roessler sets tone of the song, in which she questions how she could possibly let her ex-lover leave without trying to hold onto what they had. Roessler’s reminiscing is laced with heartache as she reflects on the laughs and the tears they shared together, and how this person was the only one who really knew her at all.
The chorus, “take a look at me now,” is a plea to her ex-lover to look at her and see what they’ve left behind. Roessler notes that there’s just an empty space where this person once was, and nothing left to remind her except for the memory of their face. The overwhelming feeling of longing is reinforced with the line “But to wait for you is all I can do,” as Roessler reflects on the desperate hope that this person may one day come back. Yet at the same time, Roessler understands that “coming back to me is against the odds.”
Overall, Roessler captures a raw emotional pain of a lost love, struggling to make sense of how things could fall apart when they seemed so right. The song is a reminder that sometimes we may have to accept that certain things are beyond our control, and yet it’s difficult to do so when navigating those emotions.

We had gone through the ups and downs together,
And even shared the tears
We cried together in times of sorrow,
So take a look at me now
Please take a good look at how I am now,
Well there's just an empty space
I am left with an emptiness inside of me,
