On And On
Kirby Krackle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A stack of lives I hardly know
Look in my mind a window pane blurry
These claws I have unmistakable
I always heal but I never stop hurting

I have no past, no sense of time
No safe place here and no finish line
I've put more loves in to the ground
Than any man can say he's found, here
And questioning everything inside
Has brought me now, to here, this is my life

Monday comes, fly to the Savage Land
Tuesday rooftop battles with a gang of Hand
On and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes until
Wednesday morn filled up with bullet wounds
Thursday night tearing up the Wrecking Crew
On and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes

Battles fought they never stop
When Creed appears it never goes sweetly
Sinister glares through his test vials
When Wilson speaks I always go crazy

There's no repast, no destiny
No time to waste with this weight on me
From Madripor to New York State
I'll never catch these ghosts I chase, fear
And questioning everything inside
Has brought me now, to here, this is my life

Monday comes, fly to the Savage Land
Tuesday rooftop battles with a gang of Hand
On and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes until
Wednesday morn filled up with bullet wounds
Thursday night tearing up the Wrecking Crew
On and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes

Until Friday night the Elf and I get drinking
Talk and share stories from long ago
People forgotten and things we can't let go
The weekend passes like a blur
Xavier's checking in to see if I'm doing fine
And Sunday's winding down, until

Monday comes, fly to the Savage Land
Tuesday rooftop battles with a gang of Hand
On and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes until
Wednesday morn filled up with bullet wounds
Thursday night tearing up the Wrecking Crew
On and on and on it goes

And on and on and on it goes
And on and on and on it goes

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kirby Krackle's song On And On describe the life of a superhero, who constantly battles against villains without rest. The first verse talks about the burden of the superhero's powers and the pain they experience while fighting. The lyrics mention the fact that the superhero has no sense of time and no past because they do not have the luxury of exploring their personal life. The stanza concludes with the hero acknowledging the price they pay for their job.

The chorus describes the repetitive nature of the superhero's life, with the same battles taking place on different days. The second verse mentions the superhero's nemesis, Creed, and their struggles with various villains. The verse reiterates that the superhero has no time to reflect on their life, with their job being a constant weight on them. The verse concludes with the hero admitting that they chase ghosts, referring to the villains they fight.

The bridge talks about the few moments of respite in the superhero's life, with Friday nights spent with friends and conversations with Professor Xavier. However, even these moments pass quickly, and the hero finds themselves back in the same cycle again.

Overall, the song describes the sacrifices and struggles that come with being a superhero, and the toll it takes on their personal life.

This was an excellent piece of work, bravo! I really enjoyed the scene with the other mutants. The music was awesome stuff. I wish I could 5 it. Thumbs up.

Great film and one of my favorite songs on the album. KIRBY KRACKLE ROCKS!

This not only was great but it made me appreciate Wolverine more too :)

truedeadman

Great job by all involved! Loved it.

Probably the best cartoon inspired song I've ever heard, if not the only one I've heard so far. Cartoon-like stillness of the video is fantastic and just works incredibly well with the theme and song.

AWESOME! More power to y'all!

I think I've found a deeper understanding of Wolverine after having watched this. Thank you!

He's really a deep character. Everyone wants the claws and healing, no one thinks about "I've put more lives I to the ground than any man can say he's found". I've helped multiple family members through the ends of their lives. It does not get easier. If you saw Logan, I almost left the theater when Xavier says "you're waiting for me to die". I broke down because my grandmother said the exact same words to me and I felt like shit because she was right. So was Xavier. It's not that we don't care it's just that until they pass its extremely hard on you emotionally. Well I got quite a bit more personal than I had intended to.
Wolverine is so much more than claws and fighting. He's tired of the fighting and living such a lonely life. I believe he wants peace and is probably looking forward to his own death which is the only way he will find that peace

Reaper Heretic

My favorite parts are this A: this is what wolverine SHOULD look like and B: the scene with all the others ESPECIALLY his interaction with nightcrawler just that little touch on his shaulder before poofing is Beautiful

Interesting. Being immortal would be emotionally numbing after a time. After all, how many friends and lovers could a person outlive before he, or she, would simply give up on trying to love the mainly being about him/herself.
