Her quartet features Steinar Raknes, perhaps Norway´s premier bass player of his generation. Steinar has toured all over the world, and his daring and solid playing has laid the foundation for Urban Connection, Chick Corea, Ola Kvernberg, the Core and Shagma, getting rave reviews everywhere he travels. Vigleik Storås on piano is a new collaborator for Kirsti, and he brings to the table many years of experience from the top shelf of the European jazz scene. Previous sparring partners for Vigleik include Chet Baker, Warne Marsh, Karin Krogh, Jon Christensen and Terje Rypdal. Vigleik´s own trio has won the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannsprisen) for jazz twice. The only Swede in Kirsti´s band is Erik Nylander on drums, who just completed his four-year training at NTNU´s much-lauded jazz department. Erik also plays with Ola Kvernberg and Kobert when he´s not performing with Kirsti.
Time Will Not Allow Me to Forget

The air I breath
Blows in with grains of sand Closing in, chocking
Time will not allow me to forget
If I knew I ́d find you here
Where heaven and hell are in one place Where faces are made out of Gold and Clay Time will not allow me to forget
Time will not allow me to forget
Somethings changed
Will I be the same
The promises I made right here Time will not allow me to forget,
If I only had more time, if I only knew I would find peace of mind
Under a grey sky far away from home Time will not allow me to forget
Forget...
Just because I do not write you anymore
It Doesnt mean I don ́t miss you with all my soul and That I don ́t think about you every day
It is so hard to hold back when I ́m about to break
I belong to your temples and roads
Narrow alleys - The silver and the gold you show The crowdy market and the slience in your home The warm rain, the taste of burned soil
And he said to me you are the saddest girl I ́ve ever known But tell me - How could he possible have known?
When he never really knew me at all
Time Will Not Allowe Me To Forget Time Will Not Allowe Me To Forget Time Will Not Allowe Me To Forget
In Kirsti Huke's song "Time Will Not Allow Me to Forget," the lyrics speak of a profound change that has occurred within the singer. The air they breathe is filled with grains of sand, symbolizing discomfort and suffocation. The passage of time becomes a central theme, as they acknowledge that no matter what happens, time will not allow them to forget. There is a sense of longing and searching for someone, expressed through the line, "If I knew I'd find you here, where heaven and hell are in one place." This suggests a desire to connect with someone who embodies both positive and negative qualities. The phrase "faces made out of gold and clay" further explores this duality, perhaps alluding to the complex and imperfect nature of humanity.
The repetition of the phrase "time will not allow me to forget" reinforces the idea that memories and experiences cannot be simply erased or ignored. The lyrics imply that something significant has occurred, resulting in a permanent change. The singer reflects on how their promises, made in the same place where they are now, cannot be forgotten due to the passage of time. There is a wistfulness and a longing for more time to find peace of mind, away from home under a grey sky. Despite not writing to the person anymore, the singer conveys that they still deeply miss them and think about them every day. The lyrics suggest a struggle to hold back emotions and the sense of belonging to the person and the places they shared.
Overall, "Time Will Not Allow Me to Forget" explores the transformative power of time, the longing for connection with others, and the struggle to hide emotions.
