Tunnel
Klo Pelgag Lyrics

The lyrics of Klo Pelgag's "Tunnel" paints a vivid picture of someone who is burdened by their own pain and suffering, and seeks solace by escaping into a world of drugs and self-destruction. The first lines, "Comme le sang caille au creux de mes peines / L'enfer est un lit où reposer mes veines", translate to "As the blood clots in the hollow of my sorrows / Hell is a bed to rest my veins". This suggests that the singer has become numb to their own pain, and sees the use of drugs as a way to escape it.
The next lines, "Trouées au hasard, au rythme de mes plaintes / J'ai castré le vide, construit le labyrinthe", translate to "Pierced at random, to the rhythm of my complaints / I have castrated the void, built the labyrinth". This paints a picture of the singer inflicting pain upon themselves, perhaps through drug use, in order to fill an emotional void inside. This is further emphasized in the next lines, "Où est la magie des dents qui blanchissent / Quand je bois le jaune des cœurs qui pourrissent?", which translate to "Where is the magic of teeth that whiten / When I drink the yellow of decaying hearts?". The singer is using drugs to feel a sense of magic or wonder, but in reality, they are just numbing themselves further.
The chorus, "Bouchez le tunnel", which translates to "Close the tunnel", seems to be a plea for help or a cry for someone to intervene and help the singer escape their destructive habits. The final lines, "J'ai cassé les miroirs trop tôt dans ma vie / Et j'ai broyé le noir trop fort et j'ai mis / Tout ça dans ma mémoire, j'ai creusé les trous / Tellement profonds que l'on voyait", which translates to "I broke the mirrors too soon in my life / And I crushed the black too hard and I put / All of that in my memory, I dug the holes / So deep that they could be seen", highlight the fact that the singer is haunted by their past and their pain, and that it has been stored deep within them.
Overall, "Tunnel" is a haunting and introspective song that explores the effects of trauma and pain on an individual, and how they can turn to harmful coping mechanisms to deal with it.
