I found beauty in returning to normalcy

The whole concept of success to me is a little bit warped
My perspective on success is distorted

Cause what are you being successful at
Because the idea of success is subjective and varies

You know, it has very little to do
It is not strongly connected

With what people think success is
With society's perception of achievement

I actually feel successful right now
I currently have a sense of accomplishment

Even though I don't have an album out or a video or a song on the radio
Despite lacking traditional markers of success in the music industry

There's certain gifts that each of us have
Each individual possesses unique talents

You know the gifts we don't have to worry about so much
We shouldn't be overly concerned about those gifts

Because God gave them to us
As they were bestowed upon us by a higher power

Its the living, its the life, its the now
Those gifts pertain to our existence and present moment

I think we all have a certain corner to hold
Each of us has a unique role to fulfill

There's a season and its not really about the messenger per say
There is a period of time and it's not solely about the person conveying the message

Its more about the message
The focus lies more on the content being conveyed

It just dawned on me that our generation is so different
I suddenly realized how distinct our generation is

You know someone has to hold it
Someone needs to take responsibility

You know everyone else is being indulgent
Others are yielding to their desires and self-indulgence

Doing whatever they want to do
Engaging in actions according to their own desires

You know someone has to be responsible
There needs to be someone accountable

So that that music reaches and touches you know
In order for the music to resonate with people

A specific chord
A particular emotional response or connection

And that might not be me
And it may not be me fulfilling that role

I might lose my mind tomorrow
I could experience a mental breakdown in the future

But its gotta be somebody, you know
However, there has to be someone, you understand

We should always be aspiring to know more
We should constantly seek knowledge

And to better ourselves and to improve ourselves, you know
And strive to enhance and develop ourselves

To improve ourselves, because that's how we improve the world around us
By improving ourselves, we contribute to the betterment of the world

By working within us, you improve yourself
Through internal efforts, you enhance your own being

Light up the corner that you live on
Illuminate and positively influence your immediate surroundings

You know you may not touch a gazillion lives
Perhaps you won't impact millions of lives

But you can light up your own space, light up your home
However, you can bring brightness and positivity to your own environment
