1) Stylistically a blend of industrial, glitch and ambient electronic synthesis, Kobold is true industrial music. Hinging on the dark and surreal, Kobold creates an intense, organized sonic onslaught. Reflections on failed American policies, the human cost of war, inane victim mentality, and personal inadequacy come to fruition in audible form.
Kobold is Mike Heighway and Swante J., with occasional paranormal appearances by Potential Ghost.

2) Ciężko doszukać się wyraźnego początku Kobolda. Za takowy można uznać poznanie się najwcześniejszych członków kapeli, Kiepa i Karpia. Po wymianach basistów (Misiek, Łukasz), dołączeniu drugiego gitarzysty i zakończeniu poszukiwania wokalu zespół wkroczył w 2008 roku na wrocławskie sceny w składzie: Karpiu, Stachu, Doktor, Kiepo i Maku - oto kolejny początek. Niemal dwuletni okres ich występów zakończył się zmianą na stanowisku wokalisty: do kapeli przyłączył się Sławek, co jest, jak dotąd, ostatnim z zespołowych początków :)
Kobold gra muzykę inspirowana głównie heavy metalem z lat 80-tych, do której najlepiej pasuje określenie hard'n'heavy. Znajdzie się tu miejsce dla szybkich zagrywek, finezyjnych solówek gitarowych i rockandrollowych kompozycji wyrzekających się współczesnego wpływu progresywności.
