She says "look behind the wave of changes" feel the future taking shape
I can see tomorrow
I can see the world to come
I can see tomorrow
Hear the pandemonium
She gestures all around her then she whispers "everywhere
"There is no nuclear family required any more
"My parents are the village and the village is the law"
I can see tomorrow
I can see the world to come
I can see tomorrow
Hear the pandemonium
Hear the pandemonium
She said "unlearn you must forget the values that you hold
"Life is not longevity and beauty is the only goal"
I can see tomorrow
I can see the world to come
I can see tomorrow
Hear the pandemonium
Hear the pandemonium
Cymbals that crash and pipes of pan awaken from your trance
There is no retribution here see how the heathen dance
I can see tomorrow
I can see the world to come
I can see tomorrow
Hear the pandemonium
Hear the pandemonium
The prisoner sat motionless, his cell was six by four.
He walked to the horizon without walking through the door.
We found ourselves converging as we walked towards the sun.
Apart from all discussion, we were functioning as one.
I can see tomorrow
I can see the world to come
I can see tomorrow
Hear the pandemonium
The song "Pandemonium" by Kotiteollisuus talks about a woman who speaks of supernatural aeons that they will make and asks the singer to look behind the wave of changes and feel the future taking shape. She believes that the nuclear family structure is no longer required as society now functions as a village where the village is the law. She tells the singer that they must unlearn and forget the values they hold because life is not about longevity, but beauty is the only goal. The singer can see tomorrow and the world to come, urging the listener to hear the pandemonium.
The cymbals that crash and pipes of pan awakening from the trance represent the chaos that's happening in the world, and there is no retribution there, only how the heathen dance. The second part of the song talks about a prisoner who sat motionless in his cell, being six by four, and how he walked to the horizon without walking through the door. This signifies that change is possible, and they found themselves converging as they walked towards the sun, functioning as one.
The lyrics of the song are quite metaphorical and symbolize the changes happening in society, urging the listener to embrace the chaos and learn to function in society as one. It's a commentary on societal change, advocating people to unlearn their values and embrace the beauty of life.
