Krizz Kaliko began his musical career in the late 1990s when he began working with a local producer by the name of IcyRoc Kraven. Another local rapper by the name of Tech N9ne was also collaborating with IcyRoc at the time, which led to the two rappers meeting. Tech N9ne was currently working on a song titled "Who You Came To See" and Krizz made a comment that the song could have a better hook. Tech offered up the opportunity to prove his case, and Tech was blown away when Kaliko proved just that. Tech would bring Kaliko into his "inner circle" which would eventually result in Kaliko signing to the label co-owned by his new found friend.
Since then, Kaliko has often contributed to albums put out by Tech N9ne, be it being featured as a rapper or simply providing background vocals for the tracks on the album. Although the largest portion of his work is that of his collaborations with Tech, he has also performed similar tasks for fellow labelmates Kutt Calhoun, Skatterman & Snug Brim, and Prozak. Other collaborations include tracks with the Kottonmouth Kings, Potluck, E-40, and Twiztid.
His debut album, Vitiligo released in May 6, 2008, charted on several Billboard charts including peaking at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums in the week of May 28, 2008. In the same week, he peaked at number 167 on the Billboard 200.
His second studio album, Genius, was released on July 14, 2009.
Krizz has chosen the title Shock Treatment for his third studio album. Other titles he considered were "Son of Sam" and "Walk on Water."
Krizz Kaliko is married and has a son, both are mentioned in his music.
He also suffers from the disease, Vitiligo, a skin disorder characterized by smooth, white patches on various parts of the body caused by the loss of natural pigment. Several of these patches are clearly visible on his face. He would later use the name of the disease he suffers from as the title for his debut album. Krizz has also been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. On his second album, he titled one of the tracks after the disorder.

Don’t you go forcin’ everyone to listen to your crazy music
She’s right son
Don’t you go forcin’ everyone to listen to your crazy music
Ah, come on
Now now now
Listen to your father
Ah, galy G guys, I just wanna sing
Feelin’ like I want someone to tangle with me
The whole wide world don’t know me
So my whole label lookin’ at me
Know that I’m genius
People lend me a ear I said that I’m genius
Just so I made it clear
Came boxin’ me, unboxable
Top the untoppable
Impossible, from more popular we be way more profitable
B.E.A.T. obstacles, see me, pay me, gotta get the dough
And I wait to the left, I’ve never been a didle
So I don’t get the riddles, this had better be all
Check, cause I ain’t reached my pinicle yet
And if they too sentimental to jet cause everything up on dinner was disrespectful
So check for me, I’m the one with the crazy hair
Dancin’ by myself, you don’t understand me then leave me there
[Chorus]
They don’t understand my music and no-one else is dancin’ to it
I’m dancin’ with my self
Dancin’ with my self
I’m a little hard to swallow cause what they do I do not follow
I’m dancin’ with my self
Dancin’ with my self
How you make it when you’re fat black and rap wack to the naked ear
Eleven years, and I never even should’ve been in here
When you’re a freak of nature they hate ya
Stacks of paper can save you
And take the chance that they gave you
These ranger labels will slave you
But Trav and Nina, saw my chance to stack that green up
Tac city first then Kali’s ‘bout to clean up
You are something else
A record deal, it was summer y’all and sit on the shelf
And was sippin’ something soapy next to a sexual dismal well
But only a handful of you follow me and I gotta be godly
And I would revive a beat cause of a lot of them actors in poverty
And I’m left of self, I’m out to lunch, I’m out to dinner
I’m the best the world has ever had
If you don’t get me, too bad
[Chorus]
Oh my God
Oh my goodness
This business is so ri-cock-ulous
The whole industry watchin’ us
We don’t forget and if you listen close and dose it in
'Cause we supposed to be the poster boys
I told ‘em to tell ‘em, you’re in this economy
I don’t wanna defuse this for coopin’ if you’re snoopin’ through the sound scan
Think I’m floppin’ stupid, you sound man
But I march to the beat, I’m like
I can only make it so dumb so I’m dancin’ by my lonesome
[Chorus]
Dar it son, enough with this dancin’ with yourself stuff
You go straight to bed with no supper
Momm???!!
You heard him
Straight to bed with no supper
That’s alright, I don’t wanna sing anyway
In Krizz Kaliko’s song “Dancin with Myself,” the lyrics explore themes of loneliness and self-expression through music. The song opens with a parental figure reprimanding Christopher about forcing his “crazy music” upon others. However, Christopher insists that he just wants to sing and be heard. He expresses frustration about feeling like nobody knows him in the whole wide world, but he knows that he is a genius. Despite feeling unappreciated and boxed in, he believes that he is untoppable and profitable, and he is determined to overcome any obstacles that come his way. Christopher is proud of being different and doesn’t care if he’s hard to swallow. He dances with himself and doesn’t follow anyone else’s lead.
The chorus repeats the idea that nobody else understands Christopher’s music, but he’s okay with that. He dances with himself because he refuses to conform to someone else’s expectations. The second verse talks about the struggles that come with being an unconventional artist, such as being fat, black, and having a sound that some people might consider “wack.” Despite this, Christopher has been in the industry for eleven years and has stacks of money to show for it. He acknowledges that many people hate freaks of nature like him, but he takes pride in being different. The bridge comments on the ridiculousness of the music industry and how it’s constantly watching and judging artists. In the end, despite being punished for dancing with himself, Christopher declares that he doesn’t want to sing anyway.
