In God We Trust
Kryst the Conqueror Lyrics

Imprisoned somewhere deep in space
For in God we still believe
Left to die we watch them leave
Lift our heads up to the sky
He won't let us die
We will survive
Prisoners of faith cannot be!
Tearing our chains we break free
With a burst of light the walls are blown away
The one who's captured us with life, they'll pay
And the blood we leave behind won't wash away
Another time, another place
A planet Earth now lost in space
They live in fear, for peace they yearn
For those who don't, their souls will burn
So reach for the sky
For our lord we will die
We will survive
Wielding our swords for our lord
Father your voice we have heard
We raise up our swords, speak the word
For we have seen the face of hell and still believe
That the sword to kill the beast he's given me
So how many more must die that one may see
For we have seen the face of hell and still believe
That the sword to kill the beast he's given me
So how many more must die that one may see
The lyrics to Kryst the Conqueror's song In God We Trust, speak to many religious themes such as faithfulness, hope, and the belief in a divine being. The opening lines convey a sense of despair and hopelessness. The singer is imprisoned and abandoned with no hope of rescue. However, the singer still believes in the power of God, and they turn to Him for hope and salvation.
The chorus of the song expresses the singer's unwavering faith in God's ability to protect and save them. They lift their heads up to the sky in prayer and know that they will survive with God's protection. The imagery of wielding swords for the Lord evokes a powerful image of fighting for justice and righteousness.
The second verse speaks to the idea that faith is unbreakable and cannot be imprisoned. The singer breaks free from their physical chains as well as the oppression that their captors had placed upon them. The singer sees themselves as warriors of faith, fighting against those who do not believe. They believe that God has given them the strength to fight against evil forces, which they believe are embodied in the beast.

I got this record around the same time I got Earth AD...woulda been 12/13 in 89. I got it because of the Misfits connection...and I like the Kryst record but holy shyte I really had another thing coming.
That said, when American Psycho came out 16 years later, I thought it sounded like Kryst with better vocals & way better lyrics.
