1. Considered to be one of the most successful rock groups of all time to grace the music scene of Turkey, Kurban is a Turkish band formed in 1995. In 1999 they opened for Metallica in "Ali Sami Yen" stadium located in Istanbul and short after their last big live performance in ROCKISTANBUL in which they opened for Megadeth, they broke-up in 2005. On December 30th, 2006 it was announced on the official Kurban web site that the band is back together. Kurban -- a quartet comprised of vocalist/guitarist Deniz Yilmaz, drummer Burak Gürpinar, bass guitarist Kerem Tuzun, and lead guitarist Umut Gokcen -- were formed in 1995 under the name Outside. Two years later they took third place in the Roxy Music Days contest with their new name, Kurban -- which had a double meaning, either "victim" or "sacrificial animal" in a religious context. In 1999 the band released its self-titled debut album. With an approach rarely seen in Turkish rock, combining heavy hard rock riffs with a punk attitude, the band quickly drew widespread attention thanks to the hit "Yalan." Kurban were quickly chosen to open for that year in a stadium concert in Istanbul. Taking to the stage wearing skirts, they had to play under the boos of the crowd -- as they weren't metal enough to open for the thrash gods.
In 2001, lead guitarist Umut Gokcen was replaced by Özgür Kankaynar. A covers album, Sert, was released in 2004, and heavy versions of "Sari Cizmeli Mehmet Aga" and "Aglama Degmez Hayat" were well received. A year later the band released its second album of original material, entitled Insanlar. Moving further away from punk influences and blending in more Turkish-style vocals with a darker tone, Insanlar showcased the band's mature face while retaining its naughty side. In May 2005, the members of Kurban decided to part ways. Deniz Yilmaz formed a new band called Panik, drummer Burak Gürpinar joined , and bass guitarist Kerem Tuzun began playing alongside -- however, in late 2006 Kurban announced their reunion.
Kurban currently has four full length studio albums:
"Kurban" (1999)
"Sert" (2004)
"İnsanlar" (2005)
"Sahip" (2010)
The members are:

The lyrics for "Uyut Beni" by Kurban are very poetic and emotional, expressing feelings of betrayal, loneliness, and loss. The song starts with the question of why the singer's soul is buried in hunger, and how he was the one who sowed beauty in the land. He expresses his disappointment in his brothers who became his enemies, and how he was the one who gave them colors and hearts. Despite being hurt by their absence, he forgives them and becomes the remedy for the anger that grew in his presence.
The chorus of the song asks to be put to sleep, to be forgotten, and to be decayed without being a victim of guilt. It's a plea to let go of the pain and the loneliness, to be free from the burden of existence before disappearing into the darkness.
The second verse talks about the singer's defeat to the tyrant he created himself, how he was the one who planted mercy in his garden, and how he waited at the threshold of the misled ones. He believed the liar's words, and it was him who let the darkness come to the ignorant one, but despite all that, he forgives and doesn't hold a grudge.
Overall, "Uyut Beni" is a song about acceptance, forgiveness, and letting go, urging for a peaceful end without any resentment.

lyrics for people who dont know Turkish (its a dialogue between human and the god):
you buried this soul in the hunger, why?
I'm the one who planted the seeds of beauty on your ground.
my brothers/sisters turned to enemies again,
I'm the one who gave each of them their colors, their hearts .
you ended up in my forgiveness in your absence .
I'm the cure of this rage of yours which is having labor pains for your existence.
I'm opening my hands (praying) for you to hear me,
say it without hesitating darling I don't take offense to your words.
put me to sleep, put me to sleep, before my darkness wakes up, put me to sleep..
forget me, forget me, before this presence of mine disappears, forget me..
make me decay, make me decay, before that hunger of mine becomes a crime, make me decay..
put me to sleep, put me to sleep, before my darkness wakes up, put me to sleep..
I'm defeated by the cruel you created,
I'm the one who planted the mercy on that cruel's garden.
I believed the liar's words.
I'm the one who waits at the door for that incautious ones.
you gave the darkness to that ignorant ,
I'm the one who wakes the sun (everyday) and wraps the night.
