All Apologies
Kurt Cobain Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Kurt Cobain's "All Apologies" represent a personal reflection on his feelings of guilt and shame, and his desire for redemption. The opening lines "What else should I be? / All apologies / What else could I say? / Everyone is gay" suggest a sense of confusion and inadequacy. Cobain is unsure of his identity and feels the need to apologize for who he is. The line "Everyone is gay" is a commentary on the superficiality and hollow nature of his relationships, implying that he cannot connect with others on an emotional level.

The lines "I wish I was like you / Easily amused / Find my nest of salt / Everything is my fault" suggest a longing for simplicity and a sense of ease in life that he feels he cannot achieve. Cobain acknowledges his own flaws and takes responsibility for his mistakes, as seen in the lines "Take everything, take it all / I've learned to lose, I've learned to crawl". He knows that he has made mistakes and is willing to make amends, but at the same time, he feels trapped in his own cycle of self-doubt and guilt.

Overall, the song is a powerful reflection on the complexities of the human experience, and the struggle to find meaning and connection in a world that can often feel overwhelming and confusing.

Article 1.
1.i think it ought to be righteous to open up a forum to let the public women speak and give ideas for women- specific laws. Seeing that most of government is male- prominent. It ought to be good to have a females viewpoint.
2.i felt there wasn’t really room for bias. The conversation talks about not just women rights but human ones. One should not be open for harassment, period. Never less gender specific.
3.by calling it out. Making movements and trends. By not letting it normalize but use that to push it foreword as something everyone is aware of and realizes it’s something they shouldn’t keep on doing.
4.I felt that in Indonesia, it’s a lot worse. I feel like a lot of people here vouch for protecting women and their selves
5.Yes, typically the one on top is male. Immediately putting men in a universal position of power. Putting women at risk for being harassed and more.
Article2.
1.I want the government to revisit equal rights. There’s NO REASON not to give the female the same rights. They should be cared for MORE cause they are primary caregivers
2.i felt it was a bit biased. It was a bit biased because it was opinion based. It nearly listed every issue and didn’t mention or acknowledge the other side
3.i don’t think that they’ve done nothing. It’s just been ignored and piled on with other issues. And with the like of leaders that are against abortion. It’s only been further pushed down the pile.
4.ofc. Since there are not a lot of them in the legislature, every move done towards women is looked at and dissected.
5.nearly in the ten’s. Barely anyone is actually legible for paid family leave. Camacho
