Rabia Y. I guess you must have misunderstood what I was trying to say. If there's one thing you must know about me, is that I have always supported SM. Even when everyone said they were a horrible company, I still sided them. Do you know what happened when I watched Dear My Family for the first time? I cried. I cried because SMTOWN has always been what I thought was an amazing place to be for idols--they're a family, and I was truly touched with the song. I cried, because I can wholeheartedly tell you that I love SMTOWN. 


I know BoA has nothing to prove anymore and that her place in the industry has been well established since ages ago. I also knew, even before their comeback was announced, that SHINee would comeback one or two weeks after BoA's. I was actually anticipating it. What I didn't liked is that they revealed the teaser right on the same day they announced as "BoA's Day". BoA's barely even in her promotions yet! I wouldn't have minded if SM announced Shinee's comeback at the end of May or something, but why just a few days after BoA's comeback? Where's the respect for her as one of the pioneers of the Hallyu Wave? Where's the respect that they should give for someone who has been working on producing the entire album for 2 years already? (Yes, FYI, BoA produced/composed/wrote the entire album of hers this time, starting from 2 years ago with Who Are You). I just don't think it's fair to treat BoA and her fans like this--we've all been waiting for 3 years, and this year is BoA's 15th Anniversary. We want recognition given to her for her hard work in this 8th album. And honestly, I DON'T care if BoA wins trophies in music shows, because she's already won a lot in the past. I know that BoA herself probably doesn't even prioritize winning anymore, she just wants to share her music to the world. What I care is for SM to at least give a decent amount of attention to her since this is her 15th anniversary and she was the one who pulled them together when they were on the verge of bankruptcy in the early 2000s. I was actually impressed with SM this time, ngl, because they released so many teaser images for BoA and also the song previews. So really, the SHINee comeback announcement was a true set back to what I felt. (No hate for SHINee though, I love them and I AM looking forward to their comeback).



Now, RE: "small and cruel pov". You must know that what I said are pure facts. SM has always been about profits, no? That is why they always have EXO comebacks and albums, and that is why they were so hyped in the beginning--and they did get what they hoped for, EXO is now one of the top groups in Korea and definitely the most profitable from SM. Do you honestly think SM cares that much about their artistes? Maybe when Lee Soo Man was still the CEO, yes, he genuinely cared about them (refer to Dear My Family and you'll know that all idols ADORE him). But now that Kim Young Min is the CEO, nah, I honestly don't think the artistes health and happiness are his priority. 


SM is no doubt still the Big 3 in Korea, and I respect them very much for that. The artistes that they produce are amazing, and I am all along an SMTOWNER. While most of my friends support YG or JYP or Pledis or Cube, I have ALWAYS been a SMTOWN fan. So please don't ask me to "leave" their channel or their groups immediately or that I "know zero things about them". I have been here for a long time, and all my favorite K-idols are from this company. I am entitled an opinion. You are, as well. I respect what you've said, and I don't want to start a war, but I hope you understand that I wasn't trying to be rude to SM or to belittle them. Ask any other Kpop fans of their opinions on SM, I can assure you they'd tell you something way harsher or more rude than what I said. 


I respect Lee Soo Man and all the artistes in SM, from Kangta to BoA to TVXQ to CSJH to Trax to SUJU to GG to SHINee to f(x) to EXO and RV. But that doesn't mean I have to give equal love to the company. Idols =/= Company.
