I am trying out a redlight therapy device called Flexbeam, a bit pricy but I felt it would be worth a try. It does make stiff mucles warm and relaxed for a bit, but where I have noticed most effect is on the stomach, and for pain in my neck. According to the flexbeam team, using the device on stomach improves energy. I theorize it speeds up the digestive system allowing you to pick up nutrition better. Personally I find it vigorating when I use it on my stomach, and it starts rumbling and gas start passing more fluently, which proves to me that it is doing something. As for my neck, I sometimes have pain in the top of my spine, where muscle connects to the skull. Using a session with this device there seem to relieve that pain for a long time(days). Now this is just my personal experiences with no backed up mass data, could be a placebo, it doesn't feel like it though. I must also inform that I am mixing this with some healthy exercise, building back muscle that was previously way too weak, I am certain red light therapy has it's benefit, but exercise is the long term solution.

As a PTA, I have used this for a lot of peripheral neuropathy patients. Improved circulation and angiogenesis. Eventually will help awaken nerves, but takes a consistent schedule for about 3 months to help. Can be used to regrow hair also.

@Cr Is sorry for late response. I would look up TMJ stretches and use ice 15 minutes every couple of hours on outside of painful area.
Avoid hard to chew foods and chewing gum.

@Angela Villalobos typically 30 minutes. 3 times a week is normal for patients. Can be done daily if you own your own. But I am not sure of the variance in benefits if done more often. I wouldn't do 30 every day if you do. 15 minutes if that were the case. But maybe someone knows more about the frequency of use. My experience is 30 minutes x 3 a week. Vibration can help, but not appropriate in all cases. Contrast baths help with circulation as well. Stimulation of different textures to the skin helps stimulate dermatomes( nerve areas responsible for skin sensation).

I've had a RLT device for 10 days now (a Hooga 60 LED Pro series) and have used it every day. Here's what I've noticed so far: pain relief - I have rheumatoid arthritis, and this completely takes away the morning stiffness and pain; increased energy levels - I don't feel the need to nap in the afternoon so much and can get more done; clearer thinking - I'm diabetic and the brain fog issues this creates are mitigated by this treatment; lower blood sugar - I sometimes see (not always) a significant drop in my blood sugar levels - which in my case is a good thing; I have a mole that appears to be getting smaller - it's too early to say for sure what is happening here, but it looks better than it did. I am hoping for many other benefits too, but I will need more time and medical tests to confirm whether some of my other goals have been achieved.

I've been using the red light booth at my gym after workouts and I notice my recovery is much faster, my skin looks much better, arthritis and inflammation from a medical disorder I have been much less aggravated. I am also sleeping much better. I like it so much I am buying my own red light panels for my home so I can have access anytime.

One tip is to do the red light before you workout because healing your muscles and reducing prolonged damaged muscle and inflammation make you miss out on muscle gains, they literally do get stronger by healing themselves back over a few days

I use infrared light therapy for my arthritic knees. I use it as I sleep overnight. The unit shuts off automatically after 20 minutes. As I wake up periodically through the night, I turn it back on. It reduces my knee pain significantly. I'm hoping to get sustained pain reduction from it over time.

Hi, I had a few questions about red light therapy. I work out twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening Monday through Thursday. I generally do 12 minutes of red light therapy after my morning workout but would you recommend I also do an additional 12 minutes after my evening workout? Is there a limit to how much red light therapy you should be doing in a day or in a week? Are there any downsides to red light therapy? How soon after you stop using red light therapy do you start to lose some of benefits its its done for you? I use the red light therapy at planet fitness. Is that a good one?

In short, more red light isn't better. So no reason to do it again after evening workouts.

Yes, red light is a continuous practice if you want to keep the benefits.

I bought a DNA Vibe Jazz Band several months ago, and have been using it for tendinitis in my knee. It helps a lot and you can use it on the go as well. It has power cords for home and car, and also a power pack to use while out and about. It's not a whole-body unit, but more targeted, but I love it. It's also well-made right in Colorado, so that's great.

I use red light therapy at Planet fitness but more than 3x per week I find I get adverse effects such as skin pain and burning. I also have found I causes insomnia on the severe level if I do the therapy 3x per week. I literally stayed up for almost 2 days and I NEVER had sleep issues… actually I like to sleep too much so I know it was a direct result from the red light.

I have been using on my face (red light mask mixed red light) for over a year. My dermatologist asked what is my skin care regiment I told him red light Retin A and TNS night cream. I use TIZO2 (sunscreen) with moisturizer during the day. A little goes a long way

Yes it does really work I have dealt with fatigue for a while. I was going through pain & suffering I was suggested Welbutrin I'm a Hypnotherapist I don't want to add another problem onto my existing so I said no to medication. I tried redlight therapy. I have a medical strenght equipment I do everyday. I'm back to my old self again, that I haven't experienced for almost 5 years. The

From things I have researched, there is the 'red light therapy' basically used for bacteria etc, then there is the 'infrared light and the Near-infrared light' therapy. The results would be different therefore using the 'red light' and using the 'Infrared/NIR light' therapy. Some of the comments use the term 'red light' when possibly they really mean 'Red /NIR light' which can be confusing to new users.

I cut the bottom of my leg on a screen door and it was deep and would not heal. Because of COVID I could not get a doctors appointment until a week after it happened and was told it was too late for stitches. Was given a tetanus shot, antibiotics, and silver sulfadiazine cream and sent home. After a month it was not much better so I pulled out the red lights I had used to use for acme and it finally started to close.

It seems that one of the biggest disagreements is whether eye protection is really necessary. I have been using the therapy without eye protection daily for 6 months. I do not look directly into the lights. I want to see if my eyesight improves.

I had a botched spinal cord detethering surgery back in 2009 and have been wheelchair-bound ever since. My legs and especially my feet have very little circulation. Could this therapy help my leg muscles rejuvenate at least to the point where I could stand and transfer myself? (I could transfer myself very well back before 2016. I had a serious health scare and now I'm not even allowed to go to PT or try anything because it's too much work for my caretaker.)

wow, this is a difficult one. I've never read about anyone with an extreme case such as yours who wants to recover using red light therapy. I don't know man. but for now, you might wana look into qigong for wheelchair bound people. there should be many videos about it here on youtube.

I would be shocked if this didn’t permanently change your life from its implementation.

In my most humble of opinions, it will either offer you an extreme level of WELL-DESERVED reprieve or do nothing. I couldn’t see you experiencing any deleterious effects.

All you have to lose at the end of the day is a little bit of money. That’s it. Just start with a lower priced one and go from there. I wish you nothin’ but the best in your recovery.

You will benefit from red led light. You need a red led panel for your back and red led boot for your feet. Feet rejuvenation takes 6 months of daily use. Also consider LegXercise machine that passively moves your legs. I use it on my 99 year old Mother to exercise her legs and improve circulation!!

Been trying a 660nm & 850nm (combined in one panel that you can strap to your back or leg or arm) home LED for a few days. I have some lower back pain. Probably sciatica. I cannot say if it is working or not yet. Just been a few days. I hope it helps. Some science is behind it. But also my home unit is not some medically approved unit. So, I hope it actually helps.

@RT It probably helped. My back is back to normal now. It hurt for a couple months. Had a pain that went from lower back down my right leg. For a few days I could barely walk. After that I could get around, but in pain most of the time. A couple months later my back is fine.

Did the red light help? I really cannot say for sure. Would my back have gotten better without the red light?

I will say it did seem to help. After using it for days, then weeks, I did seem to notice when I forgot to use it. But that could just be a placebo type thing.

@Earthling1984 Thank you for the reply! That's my sentiment as well: how much of this red light therapy treatment people are doing is placebo? Can't really tell individually for sure. But I'm seeing so many positive comments regarding it over the web. I initially found out about this from some person's post that said pointing a near-infrared lamp on their forehead helped them focus and be more productive. I thought it was a meme, but researching more into it, it may not be so. I guess it's up to personal experience.

I'm all in on red light therapy owns two cheaper lamps but what about its use for nail fungus?? Supposedly nail fungus affects up to 14% of general population, the oral drugs have 1/30k chance of damaging your kidneys so red light therapy seems like a good option. Just discovered that one of my toenails is indeed mildly infected with fungus / yeast. The oral creams can't get to the root cause I've read.

QUESTION: My mom 85 y.o., has macular degeneration and requires monthly eye injections. She had an in eye bleed, (they hit a vein 4 months ago) and her eye has filled with blood, and now she is legally blind in the eye. Mom cannot have the recommended eye surgery to remove the blood, due to a heart condition. Mom had Cataracts removed about 15 years ago, so I believe that concern should be less. I am thinking there my be a treatment with UV, Red or IR LEDs that may bleach out the blood or stimulate healing. She seems like a good candidate for experimentation, since her 8 eye Doctors, say there is no medical treatment available for her. Do you have any thoughts on my thinking, on what may reduce the vitreous blood?

If you wanna know another highly efficacious therapeutic you can administer to your mom: I would give her KetoneAid’s “KE4” exogenous ketones as a way to drastically improve both her quality of life as well as her eyesight. 🙂

Yes it works my has large cell autoimmune ,and numerous back operations she was so bad could barely get out of bed. With red light therapy she is much better, up and about not perfect but WAY better.

From everything I have read about Red Light Therapy (and that is LOTS) it may take up to four months to see real results whatever device you use.

If Red Light therapy over time ( 4 months) doesn't reduce your acne scars go to a dermatologist. The dermatologist can prescribe retinoid cream or Retin A prescription. Retin A under a doctor's care really stimulates your skin to exfoliate and that lessens acne scarring.

If I heal any quicker I might start growing stuff that isn't supposed to be there... I medicate with cumadin because of hereditary thrombophilia and my INR is set to 3.0-3.5, and my injuries still clot and close faster compared to my friends

Hello! I am currently using diet and exercise to loose weight (30 lbs so far!) I'm trying to do everything I can to give my skin the best chance to recover and not be saggy WHILE I'm loosing weight. This just seems to be the smartest way to do it. I'm moisturizing and getting essential vitamins for skin health. Do you think light therapy is something worth using as I loose weight to promote skin elasticity and recovery?

While I'm not a doctor, I think it could help with skin firmness over time. I don't think it'll keep your skin from sagging completely but it can probably help a bit.
