I got lumped in with WItch House, which is fine and I welcome the association. I've never heard a buckethead song, so thats an interesting comparison. Which tunes of his remind you of this?

When I recorded this album, I wasn't necessarily going for an overall particular genre. If I were to try to categorize the album, I'd have to go song by song, because, in my mind, pretty much each song fits into a different genre.

Every Little THING (which is accidentally sped up quite a bit on this video -- sorry!) was heavily inspired by Boards of Canada, same with Lake Killarney, Lights, Binker and Special Thanks. Same with Lungs and Crush both of which were influenced by BoC's short vignette interstitial type songs (Bocuma, Dandelion, Ready Lets Go, A Moment Of Clarity. etc). So, those songs I suppose could be classified as Ambient Electronic.

Taps and Lights were also sort of my take on IDM music, specifically Aphex Twin and other artists from Warp.

VCR Operation was one of the first songs I made with the intention of releasing as LR and that is very much a chillwave tune, in my opinion.

Theres a lot of found sound and samples taken from VHS tapes, cassette tapes and records, which is inspired by the band The Books. particularly the opening track, Heaven's Gate.

"Electronic" would be the most broad genre categorization, but i'd welcome genres such as Hauntology, instrumental Hip Hop. plunderphonics, downtempo, psychedelic, and yeah, Witch House. Allmusic and discogs and last.fm have this album tagged as Vaporwave, which doesn't really fit the bill for this album, but I have some albums and songs that could be considered Vaporwave.

The song PLEASE is a Vaporwave song, you could argue, but I made it before I knew what Vaporwave was, and was recorded during a time when i was internet friends on Turntable.fm with Vektroid (Macontosh Plus), Laserdisc Visions, Luxury Elite, Saint Pepsi ( might be mistaken about who had which project, by the way, am not 100^if my online friends at the time were indeed Saint Pepsi and Laserdisc Vision, for example, but I do know the people in the chatroom were them, but these people did indeed have sucessful projects that you'd know if you are into Vaporwave. Balam Acab stopped in the chatroom a few times, as well. And the guy who runs the label Beer on The Rug. I

nterestingly, Vaporwave as we know it was pretty much conceived in that chatroom, Ramona Vektroid, of course was at the forefront of it all. I am probably one of the few first people to hear Floral Shoppe in that chatroom, which I think is really really cool and special.

ANYWAY.... those talented artists for sure had am influence on the music I was recording then, namely my albums Delta, Hypnogogia, and Same Planet.

Also, I rarely use synths on this album. A lot of what you hear, especially the slow droney stuff are samples of my own voice, samples of VHS Idents, or samples of vocal tracks (Tom's Diner, for example is the main source of the "synth" drone on Heaven's Gate). I took these samples, and sloooooooowed them way down in Ableton or my prized cassette tape player that has a speed knob. It gives a texture I couldn't achieve with a synth.

Other tags i've seen for my music is Glo-Fi, ambient techno, grave wave (???), drag. darkwave, and other stuff.
Im happy with whatever genre you say it is.

Sorry for the long comment and the irrelevant info. Maybe someone will find it interesting.

TL:DR, its electronic, and maybe Electronic Ambient, and maaaybe Witch House, and maybe Chillwave.

Lake Radio is one of the most criminally under rated creators in the genre

What genre would this be considered cause it's pretty sick it reminds me of a mix of buckethead and electronic?

Cam

@Caden Moore honestly I’m not sure why I said bucket head 😂 out of his 200 albums I would say possibly “Kurtz temple “ on his album funnel weaver

Cam
