Come on

I said let's talk about it as she walked out on me and slammed the door
But, I just laugh about it 'cause she's always playing those games (come on)
Deep down I know she loves me, but she's got a funny way of showing me how she cares (she cares)
Last night she did a donut on my lawn then drove off with one finger in the air (oh yeah)

Sometimes it's black
Sometimes it's white
Sometimes she's wrong
Sometimes I'm right

Sometimes we talk about and we figure it out
But then she just changes her mind
Sometimes she's hot
Sometimes I'm cold

Sometimes my head wants to explode
But, when I think about it
I'm so in love with her
Every other time
Every other time

Sometimes we sit around just the two of us on the park bench
Sometimes we swim around like two dolphins in the oceans of our hearts
But then I think about the time when we broke up before the prom
And you told everyone that I was gay, ok

Sometimes I walk around the town
For hours just to settle down
But I take you back and you kick me down
'Cause that's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it

Sometimes it's black
Sometimes it's white
Sometimes she's wrong
Sometimes I'm right

Sometimes we talk about and we figure it out
But then she just changes her mind
Sometimes she's hot
Sometimes I'm cold

Sometimes my head wants to explode
But when I think about it
I'm so in love with her
Every other time
Every other time

Keep it up home girl
Don't you quit
You know the way you scream is the ultimate
And when I walk away just watch the clock
I bet I don't even get around the block

I said let's talk about it as she walked out on me and slammed the door
One day we'll laugh about it 'cause we're always playing those games

Sometimes it's black
Sometimes it's white
Sometimes she's wrong
Sometimes I'm right

Sometimes we talk about and we figure it out
But then she just changes her mind
Sometimes she's hot
Sometimes I'm cold

Sometimes my head wants to explode
But when I think about it
I'm so in love with her
Every other time
Every other time

Keep it up home girl
Don't you quit
You know the way you scream is the ultimate

And when I walk away just watch the clock
I bet I don't even get around the block

Overall Meaning

In LFO's song Every Other Time, the lyrics describe a tumultuous relationship where the singer is in love with a woman who constantly plays games and confuses him with her actions. The song starts with the singer laughing off an argument with his partner as she storms out of the room and slams the door. He admits that deep down, he knows she loves him, but her actions often contradict her feelings. He describes a time when she did a donut on his lawn and drove off with one finger in the air, which suggests that she does not care about his feelings.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the ever-changing nature of their relationship, with the singer admitting that sometimes she is wrong and sometimes he is right. Sometimes they manage to talk things out, but then she changes her mind, leaving him frustrated and confused. He acknowledges that sometimes his head wants to explode because of the ups and downs of their relationship, but ultimately he is still in love with her every other time.

The lyrics also reveal some happier moments in their relationship, such as when they sit on a park bench together or swim like dolphins in the oceans of their hearts. However, these happy moments are often overshadowed by the negative aspects of their relationship, including a time when she spread rumors that he was gay.

Overall, the lyrics of Every Other Time explore the complex and often confusing nature of romantic relationships, where love and passion can coexist with frustration and misunderstanding.

I saw them by accident in 1999. Didn't know them and don't care for that music but the were REALLY good live. I remember them working so hard on stage.
