Satisfaction
LIVING ROOM - The Rolling Stones Lyrics

I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
When I'm driving in my car
When a man come on the radio
He's telling me more and more
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
When I'm watchin' my TV
And a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same cigarettes as me
I can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girl reaction
'Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
When I'm ridin' 'round the world
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
And I'm tryin' to make some girl, who tells me
Baby, better come back maybe next week
Can't you see I'm on a losing streak?
I can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say
I can't get no, I can't get no
I can't get no satisfaction, no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction
I can't get no
The lyrics of "Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones convey a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction with various aspects of modern life. The repeated line "I can't get no satisfaction" encapsulates the singer's ongoing struggle to find fulfillment or contentment.
The first verse establishes the singer's frustration with trying and failing repeatedly. The repetition of "I try, and I try, and I try, and I try" emphasizes the persistence and effort put into seeking satisfaction, only to come up empty-handed. This could be interpreted as a commentary on the never-ending pursuit of happiness and fulfillment in our society, where desires constantly change and are never truly satisfied.
The second verse focuses on the influence of media and advertising. The singer describes driving in their car and hearing a man on the radio providing useless information that is supposed to ignite their imagination. However, this only leads to further dissatisfaction. This verse suggests that the constant bombardment of advertising and media messages can distract and mislead us, preventing us from finding genuine contentment.
The third verse critiques the deceptive nature of advertising by presenting a scenario where a man on TV is promoting white shirts that can be remarkably clean. However, the singer questions the authenticity of the man because he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes. This line likely symbolizes that the singer desires genuine connection and authenticity, rather than being persuaded by superficial and deceptive advertising.
The final verse touches upon the singer's experiences while traveling and interacting with others. The singer describes trying to make a girl interested, but she dismisses him and suggests he come back another time. This rejection highlights the singer's frustration with constantly feeling like they are on a losing streak, unable to achieve the connection they desire. This verse reflects a broader sense of dissatisfaction within personal relationships.
Overall, the song "Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones captures the universal struggle of seeking satisfaction and fulfillment in a world that often feels unsatisfying. The lyrics highlight the impact of media, advertising, and interpersonal relationships on our sense of contentment. It encourages listeners to reflect on the sources of their own dissatisfaction and the never-ending search for genuine satisfaction.

This is absolutely astonishing . Jeffโs reaction throughout says it all . What a voice , what a groove , what a piano riff โค
@eightiesmusic1984
It really is not astonishing. Unless you think her voice is at least as good as numerous female singers, such as Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Nina Simone, Jennifer Rush and many more.
@ratcliffescharteredsurveyo9735
Our greatest female singer whose record sales should be up there with Adele and Ed. How has this stunning performance of Satisfaction and her awesome performances of Twist and Shout and Hounddog not garnered 100 million views is beyond me.
@lilyofthevalley3470

I totally agree with you. Same with Jessie Ware both her and Beverley are amazing vocalists but are so underrated. I have seen Bev live and she is world class. Hope to see Jessie Ware this year.

Those artists you speak of have been made by commercial numbers...Bev is all Bev and deserves her opportunities , she takes the low road as we say in Scotland ๐
@michaelbeaumont145
Sheโs amazing but hasnโt had the right original songs. Even on strictly a couple of weeks ago the song she was singing was nowhere near as good as the Tina turner tribute
