Acicaladas Alas Alicaídas
La Tabaré Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Casi tu mirada, casi aquello
Casi nada bello en mi.
Un atardecer, la playa
Y pretender que vaya casi a mil...
¿Será amor?. No sé...
Piña, pica, pito, pucha, ¡pum!.
Pena, pana, pene, pompas, plus.
No me trates mal.
No me grites así.
Caras, claras, taras, raras ¡puaj!.
Digo: testigo, mendigo, postigo, paz.
No me chupes luz.
No me vuelvas miel.
Paso amor, peso amor, pozo...
Amordazado.
Amorfo, amoral, ¡a morder el polvo!...
Amoratado.
Desata nudos... crudos... ruidos mudos...
Pido... dudo...
No me quieras bien.
No me hagas eso ahí.
Hambre, sangre, calambre, alambre
De púas.
Shoping, zaping, casting, fucking...
All you need is love...

Nunca iremos a Hollywood.
Nunca iremos al Chuí en avión

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to La Tabaré's song Acicaladas Alas Alicaídas describe the ambiguity of emotions and experiences that come with falling in love. The singer describes almost falling in love with someone, but ultimately feeling like there is almost nothing beautiful in herself. The setting of an evening on the beach enhances this air of romantic confusion as the singer pretends to be going almost full speed ahead in love.

The chorus is a mix of nonsensical phrases and words that play with the concept of language and communication. The singer pleads to not be treated poorly or yelled at, and then mixes in words like "pena" (pain), "pana" (buddy), and "pene" (penis) to create a jarring effect. This is continued with phrases like "caras, claras, taras, raras" (plain, clear, flaws, weird) and "piña, pica, pito, pucha, ¡pum!" (pineapple, sting, whistle, damn, boom!) that are seemingly random in conjunction with each other.

The final stanza of the song continues this theme of confusion and uncertainty as the singer pleads to not be loved too much or hurt in a specific way. The lyrics become increasingly abstract with words like "amordazado" (gagged), "amorfo" (shapeless), and "amoral" (unethical) describing the state of the singer's emotions. The song ends with the singer calling for the release of knots, rawness, and silent noises, before ending with the declaration that they'll never make it to Hollywood or Chuí by plane.
