Overall Meaning

The repetition of numbers in the beginning of Labrinth's song "Gangster" serves as a rhythmic representation of counting, while also emphasizing the aggressive and assertive nature of the lyrics. The French counting from one to eight adds a touch of sophistication and intrigue to the song.

The inclusion of the expletive immediately after the counting signifies a sudden burst of raw emotion, possibly indicating frustration, anger, or defiance. This explicit language is impactful and intense, adding an edginess to the song.

Overall, these lyrics create an atmosphere of rebellion and boldness. The counting represents the passage of time or the ticking of the clock, suggesting the urgency of the situation at hand. The combination of numbers, explicit language, and the French counting gives "Gangster" a unique and dynamic quality that reflects the complex emotions and attitude of the singer.

Euphoria is amongst the very few best things that happened in 2019. The cinematography's next level, the storyline's holding its ground just fine, the character bios are very detailed and insightful, the soundtrack game and the acting are superb. It's everything Skins UK should've been (full shade intended). I've been hooked since the trailer, and dare I say, the 1st season knocked it out of the park. I'm looking forward to the 2nd season.
