Orange Colored Sky
Lady GaGa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I was walking along, minding my business,
When out of the orange colored sky,
Flash, bam, alacazam, Wonderful you came by.
.
I was humming a tune, drinking in sunshine,
When out of that orange colored view
Wham, bam, alacazam, I got a look at you.
.
One look and I yelled timber
Watch out for flying glass.
Cause the ceiling fell in and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout
I've been hit, This is it, this is it, this is it.
.
I was walking along minding my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash, bam, alacazam,
Out of the orange colored sky

.
Well, one look and I yelled timber
Watch out for flying glass.
Cause the ceiling fell in and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout
I've been hit, This is it, this is it, this is it.
.
I was walking along minding my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash, bam, alacazam,
Out of the orange colored, purple stripes,
Pretty green polka-dot sky

Flash, bam, alacazam,
Went the sky

Overall Meaning

The song "Orange Colored Sky" by Lady Gaga is a cover of a popular jazz tune originally recorded by Nat King Cole in 1950. The lyrics of the song describe a sudden and unexpected encounter with love, represented by a bright orange-colored sky. The singer is walking along, minding their own business, when suddenly they are struck by love. The sky changes color and becomes a dizzying array of purple stripes and pretty green polka-dots. The suddenness of the encounter is reflected in the lyrics, with the singer exclaiming "Flash, bam, alacazam!" as love comes crashing into their life.

The lyrics also contain several vivid metaphors to express the intensity of the encounter. The line "One look and I yelled timber, watch out for flying glass" implies that the singer is so overwhelmed by the suddenness of love that they feel like a building collapsing. The metaphor here conveys the idea that the singer's life has been fundamentally altered by the encounter with love. The line "I went into a spin and I started to shout, I've been hit, This is it, this is it, this is it" further reinforces this idea of a sudden and transformative experience.

Overall, "Orange Colored Sky" is a song that celebrates the unexpectedness and intensity of falling in love. The bright and colorful imagery in the lyrics creates a sense of wonder and awe, capturing the feeling of being swept off your feet by a sudden and unexpected encounter.

Many people saying Gaga's voice improved working with Tony Bennett. I been saying well actually she's always had the pipes and technique.

@Michele Michele You shouldn't stick to someone with half knowledge of the situation 🙄 I have been dealing with haters all my life, I didn't care about this but if it was somebody else you cud have really hurt them, so not nice, not wise.
And good for u that u are an artist but it doesn't suit u to be this way.

@Yugvijay oh I don't remember anything but I get I don't know crazy sometimes. I have a real strong need to stick up for people and maybe sometimes I misapply it. And I don't know what WBu means but I guess I can guess it means what about you? In which case oh I'm nobody no doubt nobody at all. (Although I have to say as an artist I do have some god-given talent and apparently kind of uncanny taste.... So say my elders anyway....

Yugvijay

@Michele Michele hey! I was actually just praising gaga that she was always a great singer even before she met Tony. 😇 I think you misunderstood me. And I'm not a nobody, I'm a good family man, I'm studying Mass media. I have 3k subs on my channel, 400k views. Wbu?
