It all started in 2014, in the city of Belo Horizonte, when Pedro Calais decided to post a video of one of his compositions on Facebook; a friend who was the promoter of events at a concert hall saw him and encouraged him to form a band to perform at the venue. Therefore, Calais decided to call his childhood friends Otavio Cardoso, Glauco Borges, Francisco Jardim and Breno Braga. The group started their career performing at this concert hall in the city, playing their own songs, which are credited to all of the band.
In May 2016, the quintet released their debut studio album titled Seja o Que Eu Querer. In February 2018, an acoustic version of the song "Deixa" was released in partnership with singer Ana Gabriela. The song, in this version, became a success, being among the most played in the country, giving visibility to the group to participate in television programs and sign a contract with the Sony record company. In June 2019, they released their second studio album named Things of the Generation.
On September 12, 2020, the band would perform two shows in drive-in format in the city of Nova Lima, Minas Gerais. However, drummer Tio Wilson (Breno Braga) had an indisposition in the interval between the two performances and died from a cardiorespiratory arrest.

Calma que eu 'to tonto, me faltou o ar
Sem fôlego, mas pronto pro segundo round
Pega-pega ou pula-pula
Só não brinca de me amar
Ela 'tá me dando mole
Logo fico duro de grana
Que fiquei sem nem um puto
Me engana que eu gosto
Me ama, te mostro
Um outro lado meu
E aí, fudeu
O que que aconteceu?
Se o combinado era só ficar na brincadeira
Só se ver na sexta-feira
E o resto todo da semana era esperar
A semana inteira pra te ter
Faça do meu corpo o seu playground
Calma que eu 'to tonto, me faltou o ar
Sem fôlego, mas pronto pro segundo round
Pega-pega ou pula-pula
Só não brinca de me amar
Vertigem na roda gigante
Vejo seu olho virar
E os meus brilham feito diamantes
Fecho pra não te ofuscar
The lyrics of Lagum's song "PLAYGROUND" depict a playful and somewhat complicated romantic relationship. The opening line, "Faça do meu corpo o seu playground" (Make my body your playground), suggests a sense of surrender and vulnerability to the other person. The singer acknowledges feeling dizzy and breathless but is ready for a second round, indicating a willingness to engage in this game of love.
The following lines, "Pega-pega ou pula-pula, só não brinca de me amar" (Tag or jump, just don't play at loving me), portray a hesitant attitude towards love. It seems that the singer is cautious about fully investing in the relationship, perhaps due to past experiences or fear of getting hurt. They are willing to engage in playful acts but not ready to fully commit.
The second verse describes how the other person tempts the singer, making them feel attracted and vulnerable. The line "Me engana que eu gosto, me ama, te mostro, um outro lado meu" (Deceive me, I like it, love me, I'll show you another side of me) suggests a desire for validation and acceptance. The singer is willing to be deceived and loved, hoping to reveal a different, more authentic self.
However, as the song progresses, the singer starts to question the nature of their relationship. They wonder what happened to the agreement of keeping things casual, only seeing each other on Fridays. The frustration is evident in the line "A semana inteira pra te ter" (The whole week waiting to have you). This suggests that the singer desires more than just a casual fling and longs for a deeper connection.
Overall, "PLAYGROUND" portrays the complexities of a relationship where one person is hesitant to fully commit while the other person is more casual. It explores the themes of vulnerability, desire, and the blurred lines between playfulness and love.
