1. LAKSHMI creates dark, electronic pop and genuine piano music.
Lyrics cover cigarettes and love, cities in the nighttime, arts and dance. Hiphop-beats meet soaring and volatile lines; dark violins and violent synths coincide with piano, balancing in a triangulation of Lorde, Lana Del Rey and M.I.A.
In December 2014, LAKSHMI was finalist in the Grote Prijs van Nederland (Grand Prize of the Netherlands), and Lakshmi herself was asked for the Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland. LAKSHMI is a regular guest in several nationwide Dutch radio stations and is played at Radio 538 and 3FM, Radio 2, among others; she performed live twice during the popular Dutch evening time program De Wereld Draait Door.
In March 2016, after having played over twenty shows with the Popronde, their first EP "Come Sin With Me" was released in cooperation with -among others- Bart Possemis (FHH & Baskerville) and Thijs Lodewijk (Wende Snijders). Within the next year, the second EP "Sinister" was released, as well as the eponymous album. In 2018, the second LP "Siren" was released. Starting november 2018, Lakshmi starts an extensive theater tour spanning over 80 theatres in the Netherlands.

2. Lakshmi Matthieu werd geboren te Gent (1981) en volgde er harples bij Martha Szabo aan de Muziekacademie in Gent, waar ze in 2000 afstudeerde met de Grootste Onderscheiding.
Ze zette haar harpstudie verder aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel in de klas van de wereldvermaarde Suzanna Mildonian. Ze behaalde het diploma Meester in de muziek met Grote Onderscheiding en vervolmaakte zich bij de gerenommeerde harpdocente Erika Waardenburg aan het Conservatorium te Utrecht.
Lakshmi speelde reeds met tal van jeugd-, amateur- en professionele orkesten in binnen en buitenland en volgde masterclasses bij tal van internationale harpdocenten.
Ze werkte mee aan het project 'House Music' van het Festival van Vlaanderen Gent en trad zij op als soliste in het Concerto voor fluit en harp van W.A Mozart, met het Jeugd en muziekorkest van Antwerpen.
Sinds 2004 is ze regelmatig actief als freelance harpiste in orkesten als het Vlaams Radio Orkest, het Vlaams Symfonieorkest , het Orekst der Lage Landen en Il Novecento van The Night of the Proms (tournees in Frankrijk en Duitsland). Vanaf het schooljaar 2005-2006 is zij verbonden als harpleerkracht aan de Muziekacademies van Gent, Waregem en Meise.
Gefascineerd door de Ierse harp en Bretoense volksmuziek waar vooral de Keltische harp centraal staat, groeide een repertoire aan traditionele volksmelodiꬠen liederen waarbij zij zichzelf begeleidt op harp en waarmee ze geregeld optreedt bij verschillende gelegenheden. In maart 2007 bracht ze een solo-recital in CC De Muze te Meise die met algemene lof werd onthaald en in oktober 2008 kwam haar eerste CD "Gloomy Winter" uit, waarop ze tien van haar mooiste liederen bundelde
Ook in de kamermuziek is zij actief en maakt ze deel uit van twee ensembles, het Scarlet harptrio met altviool en fluit, en het duo Ana met Caroline Peeters als fluitiste.
Ze kreeg het aanbod om in februari 2008 op te treden als soliste met de Filharmonie, en vertolkte met hen het harpconcerto van Reinecke in CC De Pit te Buggenhout en de Koningin Elizabethzaal in Antwerpen.
