Come When You Call Me
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

Come when you call me come when you call me
Just like you wanna know why
Just like you said so, night
I can do whatever I want
You can do whatever you
Just like I always knew
Riding my time have a night life
Have a night life head to head
Gun to gun now we're gonna
Have some fun (Hey ah)
Come when you call me come when you call me
This what I wanna know why
Just like you said so, night (Hey ah)
Riding my time
Have a night life (have a night life)
I know what you been looking for
I think I got all that and more
I think I know what you been trying
Saying "everybody wants a little time"
Come when you call me come when you
(A-M-E-R-IC-A)
Just like you wanna know why
Just like you said so, night (A-M-E-R-IC-A)
I can do whatever I want
You can do whatever you
This is like I always wanted
Just like I always knew
(Tell me a story, daddy)
Come when you call me come when you
(A-M-E-R-IC-A)
You can say whatever you gonna say about me
(A-M-E-R-IC-A) you can say whatever
You gonna say about me (A-M-E-R-IC-A)
You can say whatever you gonna say about me
(I like you, I like, A-M-E-R-IC-A)
Hey ah, ooh hey ah, ooh
Stay in your room get in your bed
Maybe they can get me inside your head
(A-M-E-R-IC-A) tell me a story, daddy
The lyrics to Lana Del Rey's song "Come When You Call Me America" explore themes of freedom, self-expression, and the desire for validation. The repeated refrain of spelling out "A-M-E-R-I-C-A" hints at a larger commentary on the American dream and the pursuit of happiness. The line "Just like you wanna know why, just like you said so, night" suggests a search for meaning and understanding in life, a desire to break free from societal expectations, and the willingness to explore new experiences.
The chorus "Come when you call me come when you call me" can be seen as a longing for connection and a plea for someone to recognize and appreciate the singer's individuality. The lyrics also touch on themes of rebellion and indulgence, with lines like "I can do whatever I want, you can do whatever you" and "Riding my time have a night life, have a night life head to head, gun to gun now we're gonna have some fun." This could be interpreted as an embrace of hedonistic pleasures and the rejection of societal norms.
Overall, "Come When You Call Me America" showcases Lana Del Rey's signature dreamy and nostalgic sound, while exploring themes of personal freedom, validation, and the pursuit of happiness.
