LANY is a three piece alternative band from Los Angeles, California. LANY formed in March 2014 when Paul Klein, who had a small solo career, flew to Nashville to meet up with Jake Goss and Les Priest. Previously, Goss and Priest had a separate project by the name of WRLDS, but this was discontinued after the formation of LANY. The following month they uploaded two songs, 'Hot Lights' and 'Walk Away', to SoundCloud incognito in order to differentiate between their old and new projects. Their debut EP, 'Acronymns' followed later that year, with song 'ILYSB' generating significant traffic online. Singles 'Made In Hollywood' and 'Bad, Bad, Bad' soon followed, along with the reveal of their identities.

Wanna stay, can you give me a reason
I don't think so, I don't think so
I'm in love with someone but I'm not sure
She can love someone back the way they love her
I don't think so, I don't think so
Don't be mean if you wanna go
Waking up to nothing when you're super far from home
And I watch you fall asleep at night and lay there on my own
Got me begging for affection
All you do is roll your eyes
Broken down, I've had enough
If this is love I don't want it
Give it time, c'mon babe it's been ten months
You should know, do you know, know what you want
I don't think so, I don't think so
Make it work know it hurts but I'll go there
Do the same can you show me that you care
God I hope so but I don't think so
Don't be mean if you're here for good
I'm gonna need a little more from you
Waking up to nothing when you're super far from home
And I watch you fall asleep at night and lay there on my own
Got me begging for affection
All you do is roll your eyes
Broken down, I've had enough
If this is love I don't want it
All my friends keep saying that I'm way too good to you
But my heart is so invested I don't wanna face the truth
I'm not happy and you know it and you still don't even try
Broken down, I've had enough
If this is love, I don't want it
Waking up to nothing when you're super far from home
And I watch you fall asleep at night and lay there on my own
Got me begging for affection
All you do is roll your eyes
Broken down, I've had enough
If this is love I don't want it
All my friends keep saying that I'm way too good to you
But my heart is so invested I don't wanna face the truth
I'm not happy and you know it and you still don't even try
Broken down, I've had enough
If this is love, I don't want it
The lyrics of Lany's song Super Far seem to depict the complex emotions that come with being in a relationship that is not fulfilling. The singer is up all night thinking, hoping for a reason to stay, but ultimately concludes that they are in love with someone whom they are not sure loves them back. The lack of affection in the relationship is palpable, with the singer begging for it but only being met with rolled eyes from their partner. The singer also acknowledges the advice of friends who see that they are too good for this relationship, but their heart is invested and they are struggling to face the truth that they are not truly happy.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the feeling of loneliness and isolation that the singer experiences, especially when waking up far from home and watching their partner fall asleep while they lay there alone. While the singer seems to be putting in effort to make the relationship work, they are not getting the same in return from their partner. The frustration and disappointment in the situation is palpable, with the singer expressing that if this is what love is supposed to feel like, they do not want it.
Overall, the song Super Far is a reflection on the painful realization that love is not always enough to sustain a relationship. Despite the investment of time and emotions that the singer has made, they are coming to terms with the fact that their current relationship is not fulfilling and may not be worth holding onto.
