We must've heard it at the same time because i was listening to The Groove yesterday and heard it also (smile). This may sound corny, but I hadn't heard this song in ages and hearing it yesterday literally bought tears of joy to my eyes. I hate saying this because its said sooo often, but music of today just doesn't move me the way music did back then. Give me my music from the 70's and 80's (and a little early 90's) and I'm set. Graham Central Station was the brainchild of Larry Graham fresh off his stint with the bay's Sly & The Family Stone. GCS recorded this in Oakland. The arrangements by Larry Graham were assembled there including the horn charts with longtime bay area resident, Greg Adams of Tower of Power fame. Why, the album cover of GCS's first LP--self titled of course--was photographed in front of San Francisco's old SP train depot on 4th st. replete with an actual train conductor.
