Laruso are a five-piece alternative rock/metal band based in Sheffield. They released their first full-length release – A Classic Case of Cause And Effect in May 2009 and have so far given three individual singles being '1998', 'Plain Paper Napkins' and "End Of Level boss". Influences include a great diversity of acts such as Deftones, Faith No More, Taking Back Sunday, Meshuggah and Alice In Chains. Laruso’s resulting sound is like no other. Their debut album was produced by guitarist Carl Bown, who has also produced the new Fightstar album Be Human at his own Treehouse Studios in Chesterfield. Laruso have also toured with Fightstar through May '09.

I’m really glad you like Bring it On - that album was 98% written by me (Darren, guitars) and Jay (ex-vocalist). We are working to get it on Spotify but it’s not as straightforward as it should be unfortunately. I guess we broke up from how difficult it is to be constantly travelling/playing with no money, after 7 years , it was difficult to keep funding ourselves. Did you know our singer from ‘cause and effect’ went on to join a band called Freeze the Atlantic? our other guitarist Carl went on to become an awesome producer - producing or mixing, Trivium, Carcass, Slipknot, Machine Head, As I Lay Dying, Bullet For My Valentine, Behemoth, While She Sleeps, Gunship.

My favourite songs off this album are Bring it On (which is my homage to Helmet), and Contagious where we tried to get that Deftones/Far rolling groove going!
