“The title is a metaphor relating to the day-to-day struggles that we all go through as people. Trying to keep on course when dealing with adversity, manipulation through media and leadership. It’s meant to inspire strength and resolve.”

Bury me in your clever words
Head down following the herd
Everybody's fool walking a straight line
Enemy so sly and serpentine
And so on we go
Another lost in time
Caught beneath the Landslide
Landslide
Comfort me with your broken smile
Suffer me a life thats in denial
You've come to break the mold
Your story's all been told but your heart lies
In the darkness of your soul
And so on we go
Into the corners of your mind
A brother lost in time
Caught beneath the Landslide
Landslide
How can we fight with our hands tied
Caught beneath the Landslide
Waiting for the sunrise to cross into the light
But tonight I'm taking what is mine
Landslide
Landslide
How can we fight with our hands tied
Beneath the Landslide
Caught beneath the Landslide
Cross into the light

The lyrics of Last In Line's song "Landslide" depict a sense of entrapment and inner conflict. The opening lines, "Bury me in your clever words, Head down following the herd, Everybody's fool walking a straight line, Enemy so sly and serpentine," paint a picture of a person feeling overwhelmed by societal pressures and struggling to break free from conformity. The references to being deceived by others further emphasize a feeling of being manipulated and misled.
The chorus, "Caught beneath the Landslide, Landslide," emphasizes the theme of feeling trapped under the weight of one's circumstances or emotions. The repetition of the word "Landslide" reinforces the idea of being overwhelmed and unable to escape from the turmoil within. The lyrics also touch on the idea of seeking comfort in someone else's insincere facade, as indicated by the lines, "Comfort me with your broken smile, Suffer me a life that's in denial."
The bridge, "Waiting for the sunrise to cross into the light, But tonight I'm taking what is mine," suggests a glimmer of hope or determination to break free from the constraints that bind the individual. The imagery of waiting for the sunrise symbolizes the desire for renewal and a fresh start, while the determination to claim what belongs to oneself reflects a sense of empowerment to take control of one's own destiny.
In the final lines, "How can we fight with our hands tied, Beneath the Landslide, Caught beneath the Landslide, Cross into the light, Read between the lines," the lyrics convey a longing to break free from constraints and obstacles, to fight against adversity despite the odds. Through these powerful words, Last In Line's "Landslide" encapsulates themes of struggle, resilience, and the unyielding human spirit in the face of challenges.

I'm really happy that Vivian remains solid in the purest Heavy Metal. And see it along with Vinny Appice, and Phil Soussan It just makes me think. The party is not over yet. Long live to Rock 'n' Roll, boys!

I gotta be honest, most of the time when these bands full of guys who kinda “used to be” pops up...I’m always disappointed....but damn, this sounds like a real band. This is actually badass and sounds legit. I look forward to hearing more from these guys!!!

Vivian is an Icon. Definitely 1 of the best from the 80's and still killing it. Phil Soussan is a str8t ahead kick ass bassist. Loved his work with Jake E Lee and Randy Castillo in Ozzy. Vinny, simply the tightest hard hitter in Metal. Andrew Freeman, just great vocals. He does Ronnie James Dio proper justice when he sings the DIO songs and on these originals, he's just gr8t as well
Rob Barham
Totally agree with both of you. Well said.
