Jason had a dope ass tattoo, the lines, the black and grey but it wasnt realism..i think the girls got him good with that concept

Beyond just the realism caveat, the top third of that tattoo is really what did him in. The hair is a little weird, and he should've done the hat way darker to balance the whole thing out. The top third is just a little tonal.

Jason really likes to draw and you can tell he used his creativity in that piece, but ultimately that was his downfall. It came out looking like an illustration rather than realism because he likely didn't use any reference material. Great tattoo but if he had taken a photo and replicated it he would have won.

The main problem he had was that it was a pirate. A few people have said the sword wasn’t too hot either.
