It seems my research (about ultra running, swimming and diet) is in lock step with your content.
Of course like any other topic, there is more interesting research on whole food plant based diets. Maybe some of it will impact you, as it’s hit me hard.
I also had seen Game Changers, but Michael Greger’s ‘How Not to Die’ has been more influential (*not sponsored). I first saw/listened to Dr Greger’s interview on a podcast, which inspired me to read more in the first place. The book talks about how plant based whole food diets are preventative medicine for the most deadly diseases (in the USA) and what’s more the best diet proven for longer life spans. The book references hundreds of vetted research articles on the subject, which is the only reason why I’m still on the fence about a more restrictive whole Foods plant based diet vs less restrictive. Strongly recommend listening to some of what he has to say.

Side note bro - Plants don’t lack Iron, they have plenty of Non Heme iron in most foods. So a well planned plant based diet will avoid any deficiency, but you’re right about the need to supplement B12, however a large portion of the population has a B12 deficiency, it’s definitely not an exclusive lack just in vegan diets :)

Yeah, it also helps to consume plant foods rich in iron. Blackstrap molasses is cheap and easy to obtain at most supermarkets. Also, lentils and dark leafy greens are great sources of non-heme iron. Consuming foods rich in vitamin C at the same time increases the absorption of iron from plants.
