In a few short years, Lazarus A.D. has accomplished more than they ever expected. In the small city of Kenosha, WI, the fire began to spread quickly. Fueled only by a free three song demo, the guys played as much as possible and landed a big break in the summer of 2006 when they had the honor of being direct support for the legendary Anthrax in Milwaukee. They continued to tour the midwest throughout the summer and fall and finally began work on their first full length album in January of 2007. Recorded and engineered by Chris Djuricic (Soil, November’s Doom, Michael Angelo Batio) at Studio One, and mastered by James Murphy (ex Death, Testament), The Onslaught was a force to be reckoned with. The band hit the road again and stretched out as far as Denver, CO. The buzz about their live performances continued to grow. It wasn’t long before Lazarus A.D. was approached by Earache Records for an upcoming metal compilation. Last Breath was one of the 16 songs chosen to appear on Thrashing Like A Maniac, and they were the only unsigned band on the entire compilation!
In the spring of 2008, Lazarus A.D. received a call from Metal Blade Records, and a short time later, their deal had been inked. The Onslaught was remixed by James Murphy and is set to finally see a worldwide release through Metal Blade Records. The future has never been brighter for Lazarus A.D. and plans for vigorous touring are already in the works, as well as the opening slot for Testament in Milwaukee on August 1st, 2008! Expect to hear the name Lazarus A.D. a lot more in the coming months, and as always, be sure to THRASH OR DIE!
On Sunday May 17th 2015 drummer Ryan Shutler passed away. Details surrounding his death have not been disclosed, though it's being said that a heart attack may have been to blame.

Whatever I want it to be
Whatever I create it to be
My life can be (oh, oh, oh)
Whatever I want it to be (whatever, whatever, whatever)
Whatever I create it to be (whatever, whatever, whatever)
Whatever I want it to be
My life can be
My life can be
My life can be
My life can be
My life can be
My life can be
Yeah, yeah
(phone ringing)
Good morning, my love
Just thought about you and I wanted to call and
Remind you how special you are to me
And how much you are loved
I thank God for the beautiful person
You have grown up to be
I want you to live your life free
And be happy
I want you to not be ashamed of who you are
But be proud of the person God made you to be
I love you
In the lyrics of Lazarus A.D.'s song "The Onslaught Pt. 1," the opening lines highlight the themes of empowerment, self-determination, and creativity. The repetition of the phrase "My life can be" emphasizes the idea that one's life is not predetermined or confined by external factors but rather can be shaped according to one's desires and actions. The repeated assertion that one's life can be whatever they want it to be underscores a sense of agency and control over one's own destiny.
The chorus of the song further reinforces this message of potential and possibility. By stating that one's life can be whatever they create it to be, the lyrics suggest that individuals have the power to actively construct their own realities and define their own paths. This sense of freedom and choice is emphasized through the repetition of the phrase "Whatever I want it to be," which conveys a strong sense of determination and intentionality in shaping one's life.
The phone ringing sound effect in the middle of the song serves as a transition to a spoken word segment, where a message of love and encouragement is conveyed. The singer, presumably a loved one or mentor, expresses affection and admiration for the listener, emphasizing their specialness and worth. The message encourages the listener to embrace their true self, to live freely and happily without shame, and to take pride in the person they were meant to be.
Overall, the lyrics of "The Onslaught Pt. 1" by Lazarus A.D. convey a message of empowerment, self-acceptance, and love. The song encourages listeners to embrace their potential, to boldly create their own paths, and to celebrate their unique identities. It serves as a reminder of the importance of self-love, authenticity, and living life with purpose and joy.
