You're afraid to even know me
You walk on the street at night
Tell your friends that i'm a fright
I'm green when you kick me
Your man thinks he's bigger than my mom
You're ashamed of me
You're afraid to bite me
You're afraid to even touch me
You walk in the zoo at night
Tell your bands that i'm a fright
I'm green when you kick me
Your man thinks he's bigger than my mom
You're ashamed of me
Do, do, dot, do do, do, etc
Your gums
On wind of
Dirty feathers
My death
Asphyxiates your
Golden matter
Henry miller
Goes in deeper
Deep like a scab
Which knock in i
Your eyes are steep
My love is cold
I'm green when you kick me
Your man thinks he's bigger than my mom
You're ashamed of me
Do, do, dot, do do, do, etc
The lyrics of the song "Henry Don't Got Love" by Le Butcherettes are about an individual who is afraid to love and accept the singer. In the first verse, the individual is hesitant to even know the singer, as they are embarrassed by their presence. The individual even tells their friends that the singer is a "fright." Similarly, in the second verse, the individual is too afraid to touch or even be near the singer. The lyrics demonstrate the fear and shame that can arise from societal pressures and expectations.
The bridge of the song, with the lines "Your gums on wind of dirty feathers, my death asphyxiates your golden matter," is more abstract, but still revolves around themes of fear and isolation. The mention of Henry Miller in this bridge suggests that the singer may be drawing comparisons to the writer's own explorations of taboo and controversial themes in his work.
Overall, the song portrays the singer's struggle to connect with someone who is too trapped by external judgments to be able to truly love and accept them.

My wife and I saw Le Butcherettes at Soundwave in Sydney. This band has guts and punch few others do. Teri was on fire. We had never heard of them before this day and they wowed us all. Teri ended up strumming her guitar after diving into the crowd. They powers that be eventually pulled the power on her amp...she kept playing...epic stuff. Great vibe at that gig and loved seeing her emotional performance from only 4 metres away. Fantastic. She waved to my wife. And when she was walking away down the security lane at front of stage I said "Bravo" - she turned around and said thanks. Made my day.

Edward Hewer I had a similar experience in San Diego recently mate! I haven't felt the force of a live show like that since At The Drive-In in 2001. She manages to make a real connection with the crowd, and is extremely humble. I cannot wait to see them again.
@MrGonzorhea
Edward Hewer Just caught them opening for FNM in Toronto, and it was also an eye opener for myself and I think a lot of the crowd - powerful, quirky and catchy songs. Huge applause for an opening act.

@musik210
I love this band so much. She's also one of the nicest musician I've met. Very caring of her fans and willing to actually hangout after the show and converse with us. She puts on an incredible show. First saw them 5 or 6 years ago and then again last year. She does not disappoint. Please visit Columbus, OH again!
