1. Le Man… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least three groups with the name “Le Mans"...
1. Le Mans from Spain formed in the Basque city of San Sebastian. The group was previously known as Aventuras De Kirlian but changed their name after being dropped by the Dro label due to poor sales.
Throughout the 90’s Le Mans released a string of EP’s and albums on Spain’s Elefant label. Taking influence from nascent jangle-pop (particularly Felt ), Young Marble Giants, Curtis Mayfield and Tamla Motown, their sound was avowedly anti-rock. Guitars were recorded “clean” and writers such as the fanzine editor Gayle Boa commented upon the “gentle continental lilt” of their music.
Since the break-up of the group, guitarist Ibon Errazkin has released two LP’s under his own name, both on Elefant. Bass player Teresa Iturrioz has released an LP as Single, also on Elefant.
2. One of 'Bay Area Bangers' that were an active part of the hard rock scene in San Francisco during the early and mid-'80s. Guitarist Derek Frigo started the band and put out their first album 'On The Streets' in 1983 on the Shrapnel label. A second album followed in 1986 on Columbia. This is the reissue of that classic second record. The second record was a radical departure in sound from the first album. The heavy metal undertones of the first record were replaced by a more rounded and mature, sharp AOR/Melodic Rock sound. LeMans was the right band in the right place at the wrong time. However, this re-release of their 1986 classic melodic rock work still stands up to modern scrutiny and will leave many a listener wondering what might have been.
3. Le Mans from Sweden are a 6 piece from the town of Eskilstuna.
4. Le Mans were an American hard rock band formed in the early 1980's and disbanded in 1987.
Saudade

The above lyrics of Le Mans's song "Saudade" touch on the poignant emotions of nostalgia and longing. The first sentence, "Humedad de la lluvia otoñal" (dampness of autumn rain) invokes a vivid image of a melancholic autumn day. The following line, "Insistir de la misma inquietud" (insisting on the same restlessness), suggests a kind of emotional restlessness that persists despite the passage of time.
The lyrics go on to describe how time passes and seasons change, but the feelings of nostalgia remain. The line "Y en la espera de algo mejor queda el intento" (And in the hope of something better, the attempt remains) suggests that the singer is looking forward to a brighter future, but is nevertheless resigned to the pain and longing of the present. The final lines, "Acompasa serenamente mis recuerdos" (Serenely accompanying my memories), suggest a kind of bittersweet acceptance of the past and its impact on the present.
Overall, Le Mans's "Saudade" is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of the emotions of nostalgia and longing, and the way they can remain with us even as time passes.
