Lying
Lea Finn Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I though in you I found
A son I mate on my drift
Someone who is kindred
Just the most since I have lived
But all the love I give to you
Is not enough
You´ve left inside so all your senses are turned off
So why you don´t move on
Anything goes by and so long

Chorus:
Why are you lying still in my bed
Though you´re far away
Why´s our love dying
I´ve lost my visions of another day
Why are you lying
So take your crap and leave my life alone

I´m searching for a way to get my heart untied
No you don´t need any love
So leave me without fright

Why you don´t move on
Anything goes by and so long

Chorus

No regards, no borders, feelin´ free
Serving my orders, just loving me
Flippin´ around and coming down
Feeling my roots now back on the ground

Why you don´t move on
Anything goes by and so long

Don´t you come along
Anything goes by

2 x: Why are you lying still in my bed
Though you´re far away
Why´s our love dying
I´ve lost my visions of another day
Now I`m crying
Oh, oh, oh, oh no
Why are you lying still in my bed
No regards, no borders, feelin´ free
Serving my orders, just loving me
Flippin´ around and coming down
Feeling my roots now back on the ground

Overall Meaning

In "Lying", Lea Finn sings about a failing relationship where she thought she had found a soulmate, but her love is not enough for her partner. The lyrics suggest that the partner has turned off all their senses and is just lying in the bed while their love is dying. Lea Finn seems to be frustrated with her partner's lack of emotional intelligence and maturity, as she asks them to take their crap and leave her life alone. The chorus repeats the central theme of her partner lying in her bed while he is far away, and their love dying, leading her to lose her visions of another day. The song ends with Lea Finn finding her roots back on the ground, feeling free, and serving her own orders, without any regards or borders.
