Read Full Bio ↴Least of These is an indie/ progressive / rock band from Denton, TX.
In their short time together, LOT has seen success at venues in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and sought to expand their influence with their first release, More Than Conquerors EP, in summer 2011.
With influences like Thrice, As Cities Burn, and So Long Forgotten, Least of These writes heavy-hitting, melodic rock songs with passionate lyrics to share our intense love that we have for promoting our faith through music. We thank God for the opportunity to be able to do this, and we appreciate all of you for taking the time to listen.
Their first full-length release, Change Will Come, was released in 2013, and features a guest appearance from spoken word artist Levi the Poet.
"A person contacted me through email about this really great indie rock band from Texas called Least of These. They have a very on fire spiritual message delivered through incredible indie rock notes. This isn’t some cheese ball radio rock band. If you’re a fan of music from artists like Thrice, As Cities Burn, Manchester Orchestra, So Long Forgotten, or John Mark McMillan, you’ll love these guys. Their new ep “More Than Conquerors” released at the end of August." - Brandon Jones - Indie Vision Music
The Call
Least of These Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A terror awaiting its call
They don't even know
If they could only hear
If they could only hear
I've got five fingers on each of my hands to count all the commands that I've broken
You set the coal upon my lips, and take away my shame
You cry whom shall I send
Well God, here am I
Here am I (SEND ME)
Scriptures call "Awake Oh Sleeper"
But the Church doesn't hear
And the Spirit presses on our souls
But we close our hearts
Scriptures call "Awake Oh Sleeper"
But the Church doesn't hear
And the Spirit presses on our souls
But we close our hearts
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
You can send me
Scriptures call "Awake Oh Sleeper"
But the Church doesn't hear
And the Spirit presses on our souls
But we close our hearts
Scriptures call "Awake Oh Sleeper"
But the Church doesn't hear
And the Spirit presses on our souls
But we close our hearts
Scriptures call "Awake Oh Sleeper"

And the Spirit presses on our souls
But we close our hearts
The lyrics of "The Call" by Least of These speak to the urgent need for Christians to answer the call to serve God and share His message with the world. The first two lines paint a picture of fear and terror in the eyes of those who are unaware of God's love and salvation. The next few lines focus on the singer's own shortcomings and failures, as they lament breaking God's commands and being a man of unclean lips. However, they are willing to be transformed by God and respond to His call by saying, "Here am I, send me."
The song then transitions to a critique of the Church, which is called to "Awake Oh Sleeper" in scripture, but seems to have closed its heart to the movement of the Holy Spirit. The repetition of this phrase throughout the song reinforces this sense of urgency and the need for action. The chorus repeats the exhortation to "send me," emphasizing the personal responsibility each Christian has to respond to God's call.
Overall, the message of the song is that Christians must wake up, answer the call to serve, and be willing to go where God sends them. It is a powerful reminder that the Gospel message is not just for personal salvation, but for the transformation of the world.
