Artist Biography by AllMusic
A duo comprising Lenny LeBlanc (b. 17 June 1951, Leominster, Massachusetts, USA) and Pete Carr (b. 22 April 1950, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA), this act enjoyed one chart album and a handful of singles in the late 70s, including the US Top 20 single ‘Falling’.
Carr had formerly been a member of Hourglass the pre- Allman Brothers Band, featuring Duane and Gregg Allman. He later became a session musician and met LeBlanc in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, USA while recording sessions.
Both musicians released solo albums with no success, and in 1978 they teamed up for Midnight Light, on the Big Tree label. From that album, three singles were released, each making the charts. ‘Falling’ was the second one, ascending to number 18. When the album’s title track failed to follow its predecessor up the charts, the duo split up, each returning to session work. Carr later played guitar with Paul Simon, while LeBlanc turned to Christian music.
Something About You

If I could have you to call my very own
I work my fingers to the bone, I am alone
To you I'd always come home
'Cause there's something about you, baby
That makes me keep loving you
There's something about you, baby
Truly does, just a little bit more
Sweet sweet thing, I'm satisfied
Sweet sweet thing, you set my soul on fire
I need you, yeah, badly
I know what price I have to pay
'Cause without you, darlin', I'd worry hard
I love you anyway
'Cause there's something about you, baby
That makes me keep loving you
There's something about you, baby
Makes me love you just a little bit more
Truly does, just a little bit more
Sweet sweet thing, I'm satisfied
Sweet sweet thing, you're my only desire
I'm just yours puppet on a string
And tears sometimes it brings
Do me any way you wanna when you wanna
I'll keep you just the same
'Cause there's something about you, baby
That makes me keep loving you
There's something about you, baby
Makes me love you just a little bit more
Truly does, just a little bit more
You're a real heartbreaker
You will never let me sit down
There's something about you, baby
That shakes me all up inside
You're a real heartbreaker
But I need you just the same
The lyrics to Leblanc & Carr's song Something About You tell a story of a person who is deeply in love with someone and can do anything to be with them. The singer is addressing their lover, expressing how they are willing to work hard to provide for them and always come back home to them because of an unexplainable "something" about their partner. The lyrics also mention how the person is satisfied and their soul is set on fire by their partner's love, but also how tears sometimes come with the relationship.
The singer describes themselves as their partner's puppet on a string, ready to do whatever they want whenever they want. They acknowledge their partner's ability to break their heart but still continue to love them anyway. The singer recognizes their partner as a heartbreaker who has the power to shake them up inside, but at the same time, they need them just the same.
Overall, the lyrics showcase the universal feeling of love and the sacrifices one is willing to make to be with the person they love. The singer's powerful and soulful performance adds an emotional depth to the lyrics, making it a classic love song.
