Love Like Crazy
Lee Brice Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

They called them crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what love's about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That's crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little two bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah, that's crazy

Just ask him how he did it, he'll say, "pull up a seat"
It'll only take a minute to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse "I love you"
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy, they'll never take off
He sold his one-man shop to Microsoft
And they paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you, faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman
Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse "I love you"
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her "baby"
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now

Ain't that crazy?

Overall Meaning

The song "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice tells the story of a couple who have been together for 58 years despite facing numerous challenges along the way. The first verse talks about how the couple was called crazy when they started dating because they were only 17 years old. However, their love stood the test of time, and they are still together after all these years. The second verse talks about how the husband worked hard to provide for his family, even though he made only $67 a week. He bought a small house where his wife blessed him with six children to raise. The lyrics also reveal that the husband took a risk and quit his job to start a one-man computer shop, which he later sold to Microsoft for a handsome price.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the lessons the husband learned on his journey to success and longevity in his marriage. He advises people to be best friends with their partners, tell the truth, and say "I love you" often. He also advises people to work hard, use their common sense, and never stop praying. And finally, he tells people to love like crazy, to always treat their partners with love and respect, and to never stop showing their love towards each other.

Overall, the song "Love Like Crazy" is a beautiful tribute to the power of love and the importance of working hard to make a relationship work. It shows that love and commitment are not just based on feelings or emotions but are also a conscious choice that requires dedication, hard work, and a willingness to persevere through challenges.

this is the definition of love and a man. i may be 13 but I live by these rules like I am married. I have a job, a bank account, a car(can't drive but I got it) that I help pay for. I grew up as a hard worker and a lover, and I'll die that way.

this song is like the Ten Commandments of Life and need to be followed like they are

Amen and God Bless America

My grandparents got married when she was 19 and he was 26. He was already divorced and had three kids. She brought home $40 a week, and he brought home $80 a week, and that was perfect. He gave her two more kids, one being my dad. They've been married for 45 years now, and I've never seen two people more in love. They even still hold hands walking through stores. It's so beautiful to me. I hope to one day have a relationship like that one day :)
