To Me
Lee Greenwood Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When I wake up in the morning
A sleepy little boy
Climbs into my bed to say hello
Sometimes I think he doesn't to just see if I still here
'Cause he does not understand what made you go

Just like me
But we will hanging there together
We're both strong enough to weather
This old storm till it goes by
Just like me
He has friend that he can play with
And some games to pass the day with but at night I heard him cry
Just like me

Well I always keep your picture
In our room by the bed
But ever now and then it disappears
I know I'm gonna find it
Propped under Snoopy
And I k now he's still pretending you still here
Just like me
But we will hanging in there together
We're both strong enough to weather
This old storm till it goes by
Just like me
He has friend that he can play with
And some games to pass the day with but at night I heard him cry
Just like me

Just like me
He has friend that he can play with

And some games to pass the day with but at night I heard him cry
Just like me

September 2023 found this song again. Our wedding song 1985. I thought we had an original idea back then.... So glad to know so many others were as original as my bride and I 😊. May you all have God's blessing on your marriages.

Never heard this at a single wedding. I remember living this song as a little boy at 8 years old. It's so sad the way that country music has sort of forgot how huge Barbra mandrell was. Kids today to 30byears old have no clue who she even is. Never heard her name mentioned. From the hit television show to all her hits with huge legends it just makes no sense. I get how it seemed 5he world turned against her after the wreck that almost killed her. All bc of a misunderstanding about her taking to court the man that hit her and her family.. when it wasn't her, it was her insurance company but she took the hit . I believe he died and the insurance was trying to sue his estate to cover their expenses. Wether he lived or didn't, the family was far from comfortable so it seemed this rich country music star was going after poor little family. That wasn't the case at all. I don't 5hinknshe ever recovered after that wreck. It took its toll mentally and physically. She retired so early when she could have had a long career like Loretta or dolly. Even though I never thought she had a country accent at all. To me.... Lol, she had a voice that sounded exactly like Madonna's voice on tour kinda like the express urself years going into vouge. The raspy Madonna. Sometimes I even think they looked a like at different stages.
