After releasing numerous demos, splits, and EPs, Left Alone released their first full-length, Streets of Wilmington, in 2002. A year later, the band compiled their earlier, out-of-print recordings on the anthology Left Alone: 1996-2000. In 2003, Cortez went on the Warped Tour as a roadie. After Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman heard Left Alone's music, he chose the band to be the Warped Tour BBQ band for the 2004 tour. The band were invited back to be the BBQ band for the 2005 tour. While on the Warped Tour, Tim Armstrong of Rancid heard Left Alone's 2004 album, Lonely Starts & Broken Hearts. Armstrong signed the band to his label, Hellcat Records, and re-released Lonely Starts & Broken Hearts. The band released their third full-length album, Dead American Radio, on August 8, 2006, which features guest appearances from Tim Armstrong and Patricia Day of the Horrorpops.
The band released their self-titled album on April 7, 2009.
3 Bottles of Wine
Left Alone Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Destruction and(a) crime
And every day she polished up
A 3bottles of whine
Someday soon I?m gonna fly away
Cause I?m living all alone and uh
Hate turned to crime
They stood looking on
Loafing on the start line
Someday soon I?m gonna fly away
Cause I?m living all alone and uh
I?ll find my way
She lived a life where
Everyday she flee
1million miles away
And she?s tied up in her own
1million miles away
Hey hey hey hey hey
Simple things
Ain?t simple to me
Loneliness
Won?t set me free
Someday soon I?m gonna fly away
Cause I?m living all alone and uh
Round and Round and Round
She always go
Her bottles tells her
What she needs to know
....
...
...
...
I?ll find my way
She lived a life where
Everyday she flee
1million miles away
And she?s tied up in her own
1million miles away
Hey hey hey hey hey
She don?t want to live for ever
Cause life has no pleasure
And soon enough
She?ll start to rot
1million miles away
And she?s tied up in her own
1million miles away
Hey hey hey hey hey
She don?t want to live for ever
Cause life has no pleasure
And soon enough
She?ll start to rot
The lyrics of "3 Bottles of Wine" by Left Alone speaks about a woman's life of unhappiness, pain, and loneliness. The woman is depicted as someone who lives a life of destruction and crime, and every day, she consumes three bottles of wine as a way to escape her reality. The lyrics also hint at the fact that she's possibly an alcoholic or has been using alcohol to numb her pain.
The song's chorus provides a glimmer of hope, indicating that the singer will soon "fly away" and leave her life of loneliness behind. The lyrics seem to imply that the woman is tired of living such a miserable life and wants to escape the pain that haunts her every day.
The following verse speaks about love turning to hate, hate turning to crime, and people looking on loafing on the start line. These lyrics could be interpreted as a metaphor for the woman's life and the reasons that led to her destructive behavior. The final verse speaks of the woman not wanting to live forever because life brings no pleasure, and she will soon start to rot.

Just discovered this band (June of 2023) when they opened for The Interrupters. Wished they had a longer set. Definitely the best of the opening acts that night.
