Demons
Legacy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Throw it back again, now you see you're against the wall
Torn with indifference, between the ones who have lost it all.
Someday you'll piece this together, and maybe then you'd redeem this soul.
There's nothing left here for you to rape, or take for your own.

Because you couldn't seem, You couldn't seem to, to speak the truth.
I'll never be the one to save you, I'll never be the one,
Until you admit that you were wrong.

??If it means Ill get to watch you burn,
I'll be the one who'll light the first match.
?If it means Ill get to watch you burn,
I'll be the one who lights that match

No one will hear you, your own demons will rip you apart
No one will hear you, your own demons will rip you apart

There's no hope left for you now, Your living in the shadows of hell.

Because you couldn't seem, You couldn't seem to, to speak the truth.
I'll never be the one to save you, I'll never be the one,
Until you admit that you were wrong.

You cried out for redemption but even you couldn't save yourself.
?You cried out for redemption but even you couldn't save yourself.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Legacy's song Demons express a sense of betrayal and disappointment towards someone who has lost their way and cannot seem to speak the truth. The opening lines, "Throw it back again, now you see you're against the wall/Torn with indifference, between the ones who have lost it all," suggest a feeling of helplessness in the face of the other person's actions. The lyrics continue to express the singer's frustration: "There's nothing left here for you to rape, or take for your own."

The chorus reveals a desire for revenge, with the lines "If it means I'll get to watch you burn, I'll be the one who'll light the first match." The singer seems to have given up on trying to save the other person, resigned to letting them suffer the consequences of their actions. The lines "No one will hear you, your own demons will rip you apart" underscore this sense of despair.

The second verse of the song continues in the same vein, with the singer insisting that they will not be able to save the other person until they admit their wrongdoing. The lines "You cried out for redemption but even you couldn't save yourself" suggest that the other person is aware of their mistakes but cannot find a way to make things right. Overall, the lyrics of Demons express a sense of anger and disappointment towards someone who has let themselves become consumed by their own demons.
