Over 30 artists have recorded his songs, including Jimmy Buffett, who invited Gallant to perform it on stage with him. His songs have also appeared in feature films, television series, and in numerous theatrical productions.
He has toured internationally, playing festivals and concerts accompanied by roots rock bands, and in acoustic settings. He has shared the stage with such accomplished songwriters as Lucinda Williams, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Patti Griffin, and Ron Sexsmith and has represented Canada at songwriter events in Nashville, London, and Texas. I met her by a river and I lay with her there
I fell deep into her blue eyes
We drank the moon till it was dry Our parents were enemies never got along
They said it wouldn′t work, they said it was wrong
But I married her anyway I listened to my heart
I swore that our love would never come apart
Je t'aime je t′aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can't be true
Je t'aime je t′aime I still love you
Les cheveux roux comme les feuilles d′automne
Il etait tres fort, il etait si jeune
Il ma chante une belle chanson
Sa voix m'a donne des frissons
Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu
Je t′aime je t'aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can′t be true
Je t'aime je t′aime I still love you
We has some kids and our family grew
On avait les batailles like families do
Tous nos parents ont raconte
Those lies that drove her love away
Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu
Je t'aime je t'aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can′t be true
Je t′aime je t'aime I still love you
Ma jolie fleur je me souviens
Those cold cold nights you held my hand
Ne me quitte pas laisse moi chanter
Don′t let our love just fade away
Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu
Je t'aime je t′aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can't be true
Je t′aime je t'aime I still love you
I'm on a northbound train and it moves too slow
But I′ll make it back ma cherie please don′t go
Regarde les enfants entre nous
Their hair is red les yeux sont bleu
Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu
Je t'aime je t′aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can't be true
Je t′aime je t'aime I still love you
Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu
Je t′aime je t'aime, I still love you
Ma jolie fleur, it can't be true
Je t′aime je t′aime I still love you
Je t'aime je t′aime I still love you
Je t'aime
Je t′aime

The lyrics of Lennie Gallant's song "Destination" tell a story of a forbidden love that withstands the test of time. The song starts by describing the singer's encounter with a woman from a town near Jonquiere. They fall in love and decide to marry despite the strong opposition from their parents, who were enemies. The chorus repeats the line "Ma jolie fleur tes yeux sont bleu" (My pretty flower, your eyes are blue), expressing the singer's love and admiration for his partner.
The second verse introduces the woman's perspective on their love story, commenting on the man's red hair and strong voice. The next verse describes their family life, including the battles and lies that eventually drove them apart. However, the singer still remembers and cherishes their love, expressing a desire to not let it fade away.
The final verse suggests that the singer has left his love behind and is on a train, traveling back to her. He pleads with her not to leave him, and mentions their children who inherited their distinctive physical features of red hair and blue eyes. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, signifying that the singer's love for his partner remains strong despite the circumstances.
Overall, "Destination" is a tale of enduring love that overcomes the obstacles of family feuds and societal norms.
