Believe
Lenny Kravitz Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Why's that such a mystery?
If you want it, you got to believe
Who are we?
We're who we are
Riding on this great big star
We got to stand up if we're gonna be free, yeah
You just got to believe
Believe in yourself
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved
The Son of God is in our face
Offering us eternal grace
If you want it, you got to believe
'Cause being free is a state of mind
We'll one day leave this all behind
Just put your faith in God
And one day you'll see it
If you want it you got it
You just got to believe
Believe in yourself (yeah)
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved
The future's in our present hands
Let's reach right in
Let's understand
If you want it, you got to believe, yeah
If you want it you got it
You just got to believe
Believe in yourself, yeah
'Cause it's all just a game
We just want to be loved
Lenny Kravitz's song "Believe" is a message to all of us that we're all the same, we're all human beings sharing this planet. The first verse "I am you and you are me, Why's that such a mystery?" is a reminder that we are all interconnected and that we should stop dividing ourselves based on our race, religion, or social status. The following verse encourages us to believe in ourselves and that we have the power to create a better world. The line "Cause being free is a state of mind, We'll one day leave this all behind" suggests that freedom is a choice of mentality rather than a physical state.
The second verse, "The Son of God is in our face, Offering us eternal grace" offers a spiritual perspective. It is an encouragement that we need to believe in something bigger than ourselves, to have faith in something that is inherently good, and give meaning to our lives, ultimately leading to inner peace. The final verse "The future's in our present hands, Let's reach right in, Let's understand, If you want it, you got to believe, yeah" displays that the future is up to us; we must take action to create the world we want to live in.
In conclusion, "Believe" reminds us that we're all united and we all must remember that in building a better world, we can only do it together. It challenges us all to look within ourselves and to start believing in the power of change.

I am from Ukraine, and this song is one of those that do not let me go crazy and give me the strength to live on. Before the war I was at your concert in Stockholm. I dream to be as happy again as then
