Loved this entire conversation. Particularly when Ben talked about Being able to sit and have dinner with a transgender friend and use their preferred pronouns out of respect but completely separating this scenario from having an actual debate and not using preferred pronouns for purposes of not giving any leverage in said debate. I believe that every conversation to be had no matter who is involved should start off automatically with RESPECT not motive or agenda. No proverbial guns drawn, ready to fire shots out of the gate, has ever won or helped a conversation between two or more people. In fact it’s not a conversation. It’s an argument which then leads to verbal abuse which then leads to physical altercation which then leads to more loss and separation. Nothing ever being accomplished. Respect First!!!!! Then and only then can we begin to knock down barriers to open up lines of communication. Great content guys. Really enjoyed it.

@Ryan Barrett see that's where people wander into fantasy effect my feelings world. he didn't say he didn't respect them in a debate. it just so happened that the person he was debating was the example in the debate. by him saying in private he will respect you. he is also saying i will respect you in the debate. he isn't going to change the standards or common ground works of debating just because you are the example. he is respecting her/his opinion and position in the debate by debating and challenging said opinion. and my personal opinion on that particular argument, you can't tell a human being that they know nothing on the subject matter and then when they ask you a question to enlighten them how they are wrong, turn around and threaten them with physical violence lol now you are wrong, and every chance of civility is gone. you lost that particular debate and could damage your progress.

They learned how to play the crowd like a fiddle setting up both their brand name and potential connections for the future all at the same time. I dont know them very well nor do I follow them but judging from the fact that I know their name since I was a kid it safe to say they have marketing down to a tee. I’m not a fan in general. I find him to be self absorbed and often times dominates the conversations and makes it about him. That said, I have to agree with you, he really asked some great questions and engaged in the dialogue appropriately and accordingly.
Sometimes Mike has some moments of genius. Sometimes the things he says get overlooked because he’s constantly blabbering. And it’s a shame cause sometimes he says some insightful things.

First Ben for President I've seen. I literally just discovered how savage yet absolutely and fundamentally fair he is when it comes to the issues. The media always made him out to be a loud, conservative Republican mouthpiece so I avoided him. While he is conservative and technically Republican (since we have to be one or the other nowadays), he's not the far right looney toons he was made to be. He's respectful and sticks to reality and this is what our nation needs. Not someone who does what public opinion (which is just a small, loud faction) dictates in that moment. He thoroughly discusses the issues and tries to come to a decision that stays within the constitution. He should be our president! And the movement behind it needs to be taken up.

I vote Democrat, so my political views usually align with the left but I love this conversation. You can tell that they don't exactly agree with everything Ben is saying but the respect during this conversation is something I agree that we are missing. Ngl...I've had a problem with the right for a long time but I also find myself feeling like the left and "liberals" are pretty unbearable lately also. I agree with some of the things he said, especially about biology. Pretending that biology doesnt exist is just stupid and pronouns are fine with me when its he/him and she/her but once you get into they/them and past that, that's when I become unwilling to compromise. I think the left are making alot of things more complicated then they need to be and it is scarey. I'm not down with all of it and I see freedom of speech dwindling down to nothing, and that is frightening... and while I think some people's opinions are very cruel and hurtful, I also believe we can't pick and choose with freedom of speech.

Ive seen many of the intellectual conversations out there but havent seen a lot of them between younger youtubers and older youtubers like this. It is entirely refreshing and inspires confidence. Never been a hater or lover or paid attention to the pauls, other than a cpl of the bigger recent boxing matches, but i appreciate how good they are as podcasters. It is easy to see why they have this popularity. Both are great at creating quality content. This setup is great with his friends whom i dont know unfortunately. Also respectable gentlemen. The thing about bens podcast is that guest arrive on the Sunday special in this area. He is often booked quite heavily as we can tell by him mentioning on the daily show people coming in 3-4 weeks, repeatedly. Also this attack seems rather empty handed, this podcast 8 days old.......you are making a statement about something that could quite literally change in a the next few weeks, so seems like a rather childish remark to be honest.

I don’t agree with every interpretation Ben Shapiro concludes from his processes - But I absolutely LOVE his process, and the way he evaluates information. It’s thoughtful and fair and allows (not just allows but actively invites) engagement with opposition. I do wish I heard more calling for social responsibility from his platform, but other than that I can find no fault in his thinking, that I’ve heard.

@David Biagi you can watch the news to learn about what’s going on in the world, but distinguish it from being a praised source of social intelligence for the world because they create narratives that can run your mind if you don’t know how to differentiate truth from falsity. So best to watch but don’t get too invested. Drama is addictive, and like you said the small little details that go on in interactions and storytelling in the programs reveal a lot of separation and hostility that can lead to hate when you don’t understand things
