Few things:
1. It's actually administered through an i.v. (not a simple injection directly into the vein.)
2. It isn't the security guard that injects the chemicals. It's a physician in an adjacent room.
3. Once the chemicals are in, a simple roll of tape is slid over the i.v. line and is visible by the warden. At that point, the time starts counting down.
4. The person being injected just let's out a small sigh.... That's pretty much it.
5. The family of the victim(s) as well as the family of the offender may be present (through glass) during the execution.
6. The room is divided between the two families to prevent altercation. The warden remains with the victims family.
*Their is also a microphone above the offender to allow him/her to make a statement and or apologize (many don't).
The warden has a mute switch in his pocket in the event the offender gets offensive.

What he doesn’t mention in this video is 84%, who got the lethal injection done, during the autopsy had their lungs filled with fluid. Also theres records of the people who give the injections who say that the person tends to have signs of panic before they die. Many have even gasped for air before going unconscious. Nothing about that seems peaceful and painless to me 😭

well, morallity is a necessity, since you know, even if the criminals are deserved to get tortured doesn't mean we should do it, it can really twist our mind, giving a peaceful death is not just in favour of the inmates but also the rest of the society. And also, it doesn't benefit us since they are all gonna end up dying. "Justice" is very subjective. Most people define "justice" as serving the punishments that is equalivant to the crimes/the gultiness. Basically we treat them on how bad they are. One thing tho, to stay on the neutral side, we shouldn't really do that. Being doubtful and give out the most neutral decision is probably the best method so far since we are not sure, just prioritize what need to be priorized. And "making the criminals feel pain for what they have done" isn't one of our priorities. Imagine like this, there are some situations, when the defendants are absolutely innocent, but every single evidences show that they commited crimes. Now this has a very low chance to happen right? But it is still possible and we still charge them anyway since that's the best option based on evidences. It is to make sure to keep the society safe (sometimes maybe to aids people who got damaged), we prioritize the society first and accept the small risk that we didn't serve "justice" for the alledged criminals. But we didn't really ignore "justice", since not charging them even tho all the evidences say that they are guilty means "injustice" to the society and the "victims" (not actual victims of those people in this example but yeah just call them like that). We can never reach absolute "justice". We don't know everything, we ain't gods/goddesses. There is always a little "maybe" in life. And away from wether or not the people did it or not, just assume they did it, there is no real point in "give them back what they have done" since now for the society/victims it is just for satisfaction of revenge, and that's kinda against the fundamental of laws and "justice". Now for the society, even if the criminals don't die in the ways they deserved, it doesn't cause direct predictable harm to the society (as I said before there will always be a little maybe in life, it might have butterfly effects), meaning now that there is nothing more needed to be done in favour of the society. Before people used torture as a warning to the other people so that it will scare them and discourage them but considered inhumane now so yeah not a valid reason. And now they are gonna die anyway so there is that, it doesn't benefit us if they suffer and if they don't it doesn't harm so just give them peaceful death.

I’m a nurse and while I don’t have scientific evidence to prove this, I don’t think this is painless.
1) sodium thiopental wears off very quickly, I’m not sure the process would be fast enough to keep the patient asleep and pain free
2) the medication to paralyze the body only makes it so if/when the anesthetic wears off, the patient can’t notify that they’re in pain. They’re going to feel trapped, unable to breathe, and helpless to the procedure
3) KCl burns like crazy!! We don’t put it in a standard IV unless it’s very diluted and we infuse it over 4 HOURS!! Having a non-therapeutic amount of KCl infusing in someone’s body in just a few minutes sounds excruciating

The reason their bodies feel like they’re on fire sometimes is bc of the IV potassium chloride. In a hospital setting, it’s given to patients with low potassium levels at a slow rate through a controlled pump (and it STILL hurts), these people are having it pushed pretty rapidly I’d imagine, so the pain must feel like stinging all over as it circulates into their bloodstream.

With the paralysing injection the person cannot express their pain anyway, so the people watching don't realise the agony they are in.

This is actually a horrible way to die. The deep state of unconsciousness doesn’t always kick in so some people are still awake and can’t scream or cry for help. They are very aware as carbon dioxide starts to disolvd into their blood, which is also the same feeling you get when you are drowning. I can see no justification for capital punishment. If am individual should not take a life, why should the state, who are supposed to represent us all? According to one study it costs the taxpayers $90,000 more per year per inmate for them to be on death row than it does for them to be on a life sentence. The most humane killing method is hypoxia. Reduce oxygen and they start feeling happy and then "drunk" and then just fall asleep and never wake up.

Yeah, but there was an accident where they give person this sleep mixture and persof didnt fall sleep and when musles got paralized he cant breath and he felt that, becaus to breathing you need muscles and he died in not good way

8.4 some odd minutes is can be a long time to the person receiving this. How do we really know that person isn't really suffering thru this process. I'm just curious as to how they came to that conclusion? I'm still undecided how I feel about this form of punishment, but I'm not here to argue any against or pro of it. The only problem with the first drug, after about 5-10 minutes of effectiveness the person regains consciousness, this means that after 5 of the 8 minutes the prisoner could have a chance to wake up and be able to feel pain again, however due to the use of a muscle relaxant the prisoner not only can’t breathe because their lungs are being crushed by their own muscles, not ONLY can they not move or tell anyone what’s happening, but they also FEEL the last drug go into effect. Which for those of you who were wondering, feels like fire is going through your entire body. The lethal injection isn’t remotely humane. Many prisoners would actually prefer the electric chair or a firing squad, however since lethal injection appears more humane to those spectating the penalty take place it is most commonly used.
