Slow
Level & Tyson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Slow hand in the city
Winter of 08
Man ain't it a pity
Pity what she said
Now it is getting cold outside
Snow is falling grey
Yeah it's is getting cold outside
Pity what she said

Cause she through yeaaah aahhh
She's through with you

Slow hand in the city
Winter blows away
No I ain't been lucky
No luck since the day
I am feeling older now
And I still count the days
Time is getting stiffer
No luck since the day

Cause she's through ahh yeah that's right
She's through with you

Winter of 08
It is getting grey
So cold outside
As i'm locked away
Pity what she said
Feeling like i'm dead
It's a gunshot to the head
Man pity what she said

Not living it's a pity
You gotta have some fun
I learned that for real
When she said she was done
Ahh yeah she's through with you

Slow hand in the city
Winter of 08
Snow still falling hard outside
While I am locked away
One more month of winter
Cold it's snowing grey
Slow hand in the city
And it's a pity what she said

She's through

Ahh yeah that's right
She's through with you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Level & Tyson's song "Slow" depict a story of heartbreak and longing. The song takes place during the winter of 2008, as the singer reflects on a failed relationship and the harsh realities of life in the city. The opening line, "Slow hand in the city," suggests a sense of lethargy and inertia, perhaps symbolizing the singer's lack of agency or control in the relationship. The winter setting further emphasizes the feelings of coldness, both physically and emotionally.

The repeated reference to "pity" in the lyrics suggests a sense of regret and resignation. The singer acknowledges that it's a pity to hear what the other person said, insinuating that their words have caused pain and disappointment. The chorus, "She's through with you," delivers a clear message of the end of the relationship, highlighting the singer's realization that they have been rejected or abandoned.

As the song progresses, the singer reflects on their lack of luck since the day the relationship ended. They feel older and stagnant, counting the days and feeling the passage of time become more rigid. The mention of being locked away conveys a sense of isolation and emotional confinement. The lyrics also touch upon the idea of feeling dead or lifeless, with lines like "Feeling like I'm dead" and "It's a gunshot to the head." These metaphors evoke the pain and despair felt by the singer, emphasizing the depth of their emotional turmoil.

In the final verses, the lyrics suggest a glimmer of acceptance and growth. The experience of the failed relationship has taught the singer the importance of having fun and living life to its fullest. The line, "Not living, it's a pity, you gotta have some fun," reveals a newfound understanding of the importance of enjoying life despite past hardships. The song concludes with a repetition of the chorus, reinforcing the finality of the breakup and the singer's realization that the other person has moved on.

Overall, the lyrics of "Slow" delve into themes of heartbreak, regret, and personal growth. The winter setting and the repeated references to pity and being through with someone contribute to a somber and introspective mood throughout the song.

Watches fight for the 4th time.

That's not what happened in that fight.

Tyson was pressing in the 1st round, got stunned by an uppercut, but stayed aggressive with Tucker holding onto Tyson, anytime he got hit.

The second round led to Tyson working the body and then going to the head. He was getting the better of Tucker, but kept himself in check from leaving his chin open.

About round 6 is when Tyson got on his bicycle and started working the jab to great affect. Tucker had landed a abysmal 22% of his jabs by the 4th round and by the 8th Tyson had landed 76% of his.

Tyson was straight up working his jab and wearing Tucker down. Tyson stayed patient and hunkered down for the long haul. He's not one dimensional like Deontay Wilder.

Mike literally had full body weight going into every punch, quick, and endless energy! Literally an amazing athlete!

@AssPhyxiation

To have full body weight going into every punch he’d have to fall on them from above.

@SamLoki

Lmao no, it's more like 1200 lbs of force in his punch

Watching a Tyson fight back then was bigger than the Super Bowl to me. Everyone watched Tyson fight, even people that didn't even watch boxing watched. With Tyson fighting you didn't have to even think about was it going to be worth paying for the fight. Tyson always put on a masterpiece.

@samuelshaw934

All ages also!!

@tamedshrew235

So true. Back then the lighter division champs all came into the ring with glorious regalia and robes. Mike stood in black boots with no socks. He was an animal in the ring.
