The lyrics to Leviticus's song "Burial" convey the message of a strong and confident performer challenging their competition. The phrase "Big, bad and heavy" refers to the performer's own skills and abilities while also serving as a warning to any other sound or performer attempting to challenge them. The repetition of the line "any sound test me tonight, Dem ah go bury" reinforces this sentiment and emphasizes the performer's dominance in the music scene. The phrase "watch this" is used as a command, signaling to the audience to pay attention and witness the performer's skill and artistry.
The repetition of the lines "First you say yeah, then you say no, tell me to stop, then you say go, what kind of fool are you looking for?" could be interpreted as the performer questioning their competitors' motives and commitment to their craft. The frustration in the repetition of this line could be seen as the performer's annoyance with those who are not fully dedicated to their art and are flip-flopping in their approach.
Overall, "Burial" speaks to the confidence and dominance of the performer while also challenging their competition and questioning their motives. The repetition of phrases adds to the song's catchy and memorable nature, making it a standout track in its genre.
